ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    My Beginner Questions

Okay, so I recently bought a 1992 Accord Lx Coupe, marune red stock color, stock everything. It looks so boreing although it has an extremely expensive stereo in it, curtousy of my brother, who I bought it from. I am the cars 4th owner, tomorrow I can post the mileage and some pics. The interior is flawless except the heat/ac knobs can come off. The engine and everything is in perfect stock condition, no intake or anything like that and I'm going to keep it that way. All the owners, my two brothers and some other person all took great care of the car. Although my last brother did not get full coullision insurance and someone hit him in a parking lot, then left, (stupid asshole) and this brings me to my first question.

Question 1: The little peice on the back right of the car that the "Lx" tag is on, that little peice that wraps around the corner fell off when my brother got hit in the parking lot. My other brother bent it back into shape and liquid welded it back on. It still looks like crap and im sure it will be a pain to get off now, but my question is, would the junk yard be the best place to get another peice or is there some other way?

Question 2: On the back of the wheel well of the back right tire there is a rust spot right above the tire, more towards the rear lights. My brother sanded it down awhile back and put some touch up paint on it but it still looks like shit. How do I go about repairing this?

Question 3: This damage also happened at the same time as question 1's problem occured, right after that little corner peice that has the "Lx" tag, before the wheel it is dented in. It is a pretty small dent, well maybe half the size of an average fist. The problem is you can't bang it out and the peice that it's a part of is this huge ass peice of the car that wraps around the door and goes to the front of the car, so not cheap to replace the huge ass peice just because of this one stupid dent that wont bend out. What do I do about it?

Question 4: Once I get all of these exterior problem fixed I want to paint the car, I don't like the marune too much. I'm thinking either black, bright red, or electric blue. How much would a cheap paintjob cost me? and how much less if I sanded it myself?

Question 5: Rims, how big can they go on a 92 accord lx coupe and not look silly?

Question 6: Window tint, what's it going to cost me to tint all the windows except the windsheild ofcourse. (coupe 92 lx) With a decent tint, I don't want it to bubble. Just black tint with about 35-40% visibility.

Question 7: So, I paint it, tint it, and get the rims, I'm also debadgeing it. I don't want preformance. I want to look clean, no wings vinyl, etc. What do I do next to get the car looking nice at an affordable price. All the little things, exterior first, then the interior.

Thanks so much in advance for any help anyone offers, I'm sure a lot of you have done everything I need and want to do many times. I'm glad I stumbled upon this forum.

it's the cheapest way because if you find one in your color, you don't have to have it painted.

are you talking about the rear corner panel? take it to a body shop.

Question 4: Once I get all of these exterior problem fixed I want to paint the car, I don't like the marune too much. I'm thinking either black, bright red, or electric blue. How much would a cheap paintjob cost me? and how much less if I sanded it myself?
that all depends where you go and what quality paint job you want.

Question 5: Rims, how big can they go on a 92 accord lx coupe and not look silly?
different people have different definitions of what ''silly'' is. what one likes, another doesn't. it really only matter's what you think is silly. i've seen rims of all sizes on accords from 13's to 22's. most people go with 17's.

Question 6: Window tint, what's it going to cost me to tint all the windows except the windsheild ofcourse. (coupe 92 lx) With a decent tint, I don't want it to bubble. Just black tint with about 35-40% visibility.
again, it depends on where you go, what quality tint, and where you live. you're going to have to go around where you live to get quotes.

Question 7: So, I paint it, tint it, and get the rims, I'm also debadgeing it. I don't want preformance. I want to look clean, no wings vinyl, etc. What do I do next to get the car looking nice at an affordable price. All the little things, exterior first, then the interior.
    that's up to you.

Thanks a lot for the advice, I appreciate it. My brother is still driveing the accord around since he hasn't received the title to the sti he bought yet but he is comeing home tonight. I will take some pictures of it and of the damage. I'm thinking 17's look nice but I'd probaly go 18's. I'll have to look around at people's pics. As for the window tint, I live in western mass, I need to have 35% visibility to be legal. I'm looking for a pretty cheap paint job since I don't plan to drop 2g on paint, probaly like 500 maybe, I can most likely sand it myself tho. As for the little things, I'm talking about things like the grill, that definatly has to change and tiny things inside the car, like the peices around the door handle and stuff like that, it just clicked with me, this is an edit, do most people just pop the little parts out and just spray paint them? Although it looks like some people have chrome ones, I'll post pics of what I'm talking about also. Where would I find these parts? Anyway I should have some pics by tonight. Thanks again.

Okay, I found a pic of the same car I have on this forum. I got permision to use the pics, I have the same exact car just marune red. I drew the damage points.

I need to repair the rust spot, grab another one of those small corner peices, and fix the dent somehow. Do you think I could pop that whole panel off and bang the dent that is there out? That one panel is like the entire right side of the car, and the dent is in a weird spot, I'll have actual pics of it later tonight or tomorrow. I would hate to pay someone to repair it.

Yea thats the rear filler peice..sometimes people have them on here but you might have to get it painted or junkyard best bet....rust...check the diy threads if u can do it yourself try it, if not body shop is ur best bet. I personally dont like anything bigger then 17's but i went with 15's to keep it somewhat stock look.
