ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Nightmare Body Kit Install

Ok, here's the deal. I have a 1991 accord EX and i'm getting a Versus Motorsports body kit installed. Roughly how much should this cost, how long should it take, and what should I expect? Right now I have spent about $600 on the kit, $1200 on the install (fit, paint and install) and it looks like HELL. you can see brackets sticking out on the front bumper, sides, and part of the rear bumper is sticking into the wheel well. I took this to a professional body shop in michigan. They have now had my car in total for over 10 days (i had to bring my car back 3 times already cuz the rear started coming off, my brand new projectors were cracked, rear inner fenders weren't re-attached, side skirts were banging against the frame). So my question is, how much have you people paid to get a decent job done?

this is why you buy quality shit and not have idiots install it for you.

$1800 for a body kit, paint, and install... .. It couldn't look that good. My brother's C-West kit was about $1300, and it's super nice. Just the front air dam was about $500. Oh, and it sounds like the shop you are dealing with is only used to dealing with OE equipt, and they suck anyhow.

I've had a few conversations with some people here and it seems like the VM kits fit really well without a whole lot of modifications. I agree that you get what you pay for, and more expensive kits are usually better, but I'd rather keep my car stock than put a C-West kit on, I absolutely do not like the look of that kit. So for the people who have put kits on, how much do you pay? The comments about keeping my car OEM or not putting a kit on isn't exactly going to help me out at this point, so don't bother.

the people that installed ur kit are idiots....first of all... u can just have someone paint it, and you can install it yourself... its very simple, 2nd mayb u got a replica kit? becuz replicas tend to not fit very well. i wouldnt do a bodykit, OEM w/lip is the way to go

It probably didnt have the drilled holes for the stuff so they had to make some themselves. But brackets? Thats some half ass shit. Id take it back and make them fix it or get you another one. And yea not all the people in the world know how to install a kit you should do some research before getting someone to do it for you.

sounds like you need to find another body shop. as professional a body shop can be, not all can install aftermarket body kits, especially those that are made of fiberglass. its always good to ask for pics of "custom" work the body shop has done. you paid around the average price for the install but obviously didn't get your $$$ worth.
