ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I'll have to check my wiring diragram and find a spot to tap into the positive for the lights, I currently have my neons wired up though to where you have to just have the acc. on and the light switch.
      Hi, I'm Shippo and I have a problem. I keep buying CB7's.

How would I go about doing that? There's gotta be a way!
are you talking about having them powered 24/7? or just when your lights are on, and having the ability to have your lights on, but the cathodes off?

i might go look under my car and check.
but can i just splice the wires in for the lights right there after the lever thing?
or do i need to use it somewhere else?

        THIS IS WHAT I DID.

the ash tray light, i wired my two fans directly into that wire. got rid of the little ash tray light. if iwant to put it back on, i can. not hard.

the ash tray light is tied in with the interior lights. (dash, cig. lighter, ect.) so whenever i turn my lights on, to that first circle, the fans above my feet come on. it's what i did, very easy to do. if you want pictures, i can/will provide pictures of the actual wiring.

http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=55157 is what i did. not hard, any questions, post here, or pm me. i'd be more than happy to help as best as i can.

remember, this project is NOT hard at all. just ask questions.

I don't know if they'd be powered 24/7 if I did that. I don't know JACK about wiring or electronics.

But I like the idea of having them tied to the ash tray light, only I don't have an ash tray light, lol. I don't think mines works. Is there another way to do that? Cuz it'd be cool to just turn the headlight knob to the first setting and have the lights on. I'd be down for that.

Definitly would also like pictures of the wiring, please!!!

alright man, this is what i can do for you.

since i've got to be at work in about 25 minutes, i can't do anything as of now. except get ready for work.

so, at work, i'll be thinking of ways you could wire them. then, when i get home, i can take pictures of how i wired mine.

an option you can choose is splice the wire to your cig. lighter. but there's like 4-5 wires that that confused the shit out of me, so that's why i went with the ash tray light.

p.s. thoes wheels on your car are tight, drop the car and it's gonna look tight as hellll. also, if you're thinking of getting new tail lights, try to smoke them first, see how they turn out.

            just a little suggestion :-p

but yeah, i'll get back to you when i get home.

              Alright buddy,
Here is what you need to do- There are hundreds (well, maybe not) of live wires that run thoughout the car. You can use a live ignition wire (I wouldn't) the light from a cigarette lighter (good option) the constant power source to the radio (good option as well) or last but not least directly to the battery. (Lots of messy wires, so I wouldn't do this either.)
If you want to maintain the integrity of the wires, 3M (The Company) makes these groovey things called T-Taps that you peel back the insulation with a razor, put it over the wire, and don't have to cut. So from your live wire you take it to the switch then to the individual lights (two wires) then ground the lights.
Bulldog Security makes crappy alarms but has a free vehicle wiring diagram, so you can look for the various live power wires.
The reason you use a constant is so you can use them when the car is off, if you use a switched power, you would have to only use them in accessory or when the engine was on.
              So:
              [Live Wire]--------[+swich-]---------[light power wire]-----[chassis ground]
              ---------[light power wire]------[chassis ground]
Unless I screwed something up you should be good to go.
Why? Because... Life Happens @ 4500 RPM
