blacking out lights

basically i want to black out my tail lights
ive tried just paintin it with black paint on the outside but it turned out ruff nd didnt look all that good
i want to take the lens of nd paint the inside but im not exactly sure how to do it
ive heard ppl put the light in the oven to mealt the glue?
i just wanna noe the best nd easiest way to do it
ive looked for a DIY but cudnt find
if any1 found 1 let me no thnx

there is a diy on here for all red taillights so follow those instructions but just paint yours black instead of red. oh btw the good paint is testors transparent tint

I did my stock tails to see if I would like the smoked look. I used window tint paint that you can buy at a hobby store. Also online there is a paint called nightshades which works as well. Just start with light coats and go from there that way you dont go to dark and your lights wont shine through.

Well i did a all red tail light but i hate it. Imma buy some Red Clear cuz i have a '91 and i hate the black strip that runs across...

i dont recomend it to any1 cuz i just melted the $h!t out of my light

yea, you did something wrong.

how hot did you have it at? and did you preheat? the hottest I would go is 225. keep a close eye on it so it wont melt. 15 minutes max.lol
