ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Painting my car

When I bought my car the rear end was all messed up. I fixed what I could and with a trip to the junk yard it all looks good. But I now have a white trunk(on my green car). So I'm going to paint my car, and I was wondering about how much thats going to run me? Any suggestions on color? Should I stay green, or in your apinion what color looks best on a cb?

there is a guy on here who knows a lot about paint and could help you out a lot and his SN is Laguna7 and this is his thread:

    http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43179

i would say it really depends on how much money you have..i mean it's really upto you on what color you want your car to be and if you want to stay with green or not.

Look at it this way, if the entire car's paint is kind of worn and ready to be re-done then i would def. consider maybe a different color or full repaint in green, but if the paint on the car is generally alright and just needs a buff out and a little wax, then i'd say save the extra cash for now, and just get the rear painted green. I mean why waste money, when the rest of the car's paint is in alright condition and could just use a few touch ups.

In the end it really is your decision to go with whatever you want as your final color..it's your hard earned money and time and if you feel that the car needs a new color then go for it!!

Most people say Maaco is a bad place to go for repainting and body work, but i think that since you just need paint, it probably won't be bad, and they're not doing any bondo or anything, so how could anything really go wrong right? They charge reasonable prices and usually have some good individuals who will do things right and your car will look good. Just check around with local body/paint shops and see who can do it the fastest and the best and of course who has the best price.

I hope things go well for you and keep us updated on whether or not you kepe the green or opt for a new color!

Laguna's a good guy - and that thread does have a lot of info - i think its called "the paint thread" - i can give you some tips too if you need

red paint is the most expensive and the hardest to match - whites and the lighter primers i have found are cheaper, due to having less pigment in the first place -

      - id stick to your original stock color unless you're going to paint the frame too - or somehow incorporate the green into your new style ... but then again im also a little neurotic when it comes to color matching
