Ok, not sure if this is the right section but eh. never hurts to ask. I have a 93 cb7 that is leaking on my driver door pretty bad. Now my question is, is can I tighten the door to close tighter till money can be baught for new weather stripping? It's to the point that its bad enough where I have to replace the carpet and it will be done in black

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

My advice would be to go to auozone and get some weatherstripping. You can put it around the door as a temporary fix until you replace the factory weather stripping or whatever is causing the leak. Another option would be to hit the Junkyard and see if you can find the seals on a junk car and replace yours. Both options are cheap... .Procrastination is a THIEF of time!!

This would probably have been better in the the technical section, as it is regarding a repair, not an aesthetic modification.
Anyway, I agree... replace the weather stripping ASAP. Borrow money if you have to. Water only leads to rust, mold, and electrical damage.
You can't tighten the door any further.
If you want to do a ghetto fix, duct-tape the door closed, and be sure you cover the entire opening. Seal it up good... then get in and out through the passenger side. It'll suck, but it shouldn't leak.

update... used some sealent adhesive and it has worked but I have found the true problem. Its that small flap of rubber that is right on top of the doors that is missing that is causing it to leak. Its not as bad as it once was but I still cant replace the carpet and padding until it is truly sealedTo jdm or not jdm that is the question
