Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    trim delete help plase :)

    somthing ive seen occasionally is cb7 with none of the plastic trim on the body, i like the way this looks and would appreciate if someone would tell me how to go about doing it, or directing me somewhere thatll show me how, ive looked around and havent found anything, thanks guys!

    Its done by welding steel strips plates over the recess.

      Are you sure the trim is deleted and not painted? A lot of cbs that get reprinted usually end up getting the trim painted as well. Also the anniversary and special editions has body colored trim as well

        I have a fully bondo shaved coupe. After about three years there was evidence. Five years it's was evident, and now embarrassing. Well it's not full bondo it floats on a steel mesh. I would not do it. Last week I came up with something I might try. Cut the sheet metal from just above the moldings out of a junk yard cb because they are just about the right contour they should fit well. Then cut my old moulding area out. I would use body panel adhesive to glue strips of sheet metal longways inside the old door skin leaving about a 1/2 tab exposed to body adhesive my cb scrap metal to the door and fenders. Then use very little bondo to smooth the seams. I don't know if it will work but I have welded before and know I don't weld where it can be seen.

          If you have the money I would buy a door from a junkyard. Doesn't matter if it's rusty or not and give shaving the rub strips a test run. Bondo will always crack eventually.

            Honestly I'd just paint the moldings themselves. It doesnt look bad at all.
