Just like the title says... Has anyone tried or succeeded with widebody (custom or kit) or rolling your fenders? Maybe even just custom fender flares? It's hard to pull the look off correctly with that but pictures would be awesome.

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Many people roll their fenders, some have flares. Search and you shall find.

i've seen more rolled fenders and fender flares. hardly see the widebody kits on these cars.
fender flares would be ideal, done well you can get the aggressive stance without all the meatiness of a body kit.
Ronald Type_R had R-Magic Fender Flares. I think i remember him saying they're pretty rare. any fender flare can be made to work though.
rolled fenders keeps your stock shape but opens up your wheel clearance. When you start pulling your fender though your fenders may start to look thin and weak cuz you'll be stretching the visible metal out (the metal you'll roll when you roll your fenders will tuck in behind the visible metal).

Say what you will but I was considering doing "wide-body" on just the rear and then a flare or stretch on the front. I would probably make the wide body out of steel, considering I'm not that fond of bonding fiberglass to metal. But I'm looking for ideas there as well as if anyone might have relocated/shaved their fuel door and filler neck. I've done it in trucks, but the location on them is a bit more of a "no-brainer". But considering I have a wagon, I wasn't sure how anyone might have tied in the rear doors with door panels or if they built behind them. I feel like the only way to achieve the right look would be to tie into the doors or else that crisp line the door gives would throw it off.Last edited by Rezz; 03-17-2014, 03:38 PM.

Back when I was hanging out with minitruckers and wanted to shave everything, I wanted to put a flush-mount gas cap on the roof and run the fuel line behind the c-pillar plastic. If you're low enough, that could work. Behind a taillight is another option.

Yes, a widebody wagon. Just probably not the whole body. It takes a certain car to pull off a widebody front end in my opinon. I do a lot of drafting so I may end up messing with it there or with clay on the car. Then cover the clay in aluminum foil and fiberglass it as a mould. From there i should be able to fab the panels out of steel. (Again, this won't be happening soon). But instead of welding in rust repair patches... Why not "make her ass fat" while I'm in there?
I would possibly consider the roof filler if I wasn't already planning on putting in a full glass roof. I have it somewhere but I think the dimensions are either 24x60 or 30x60. Can't remember which. I drafted up the basic design for that as well in a layered model if anyone is interested.Last edited by Rezz; 04-08-2014, 08:34 PM.
