ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Shaved trunk? shaved door mouldings?

when i originally bought my cb7 it came with a few
    "riced out mods" LOL .
the trunk was completely shaved & the lights were gone.
the door trim on all 4 doors were also removed and the holes
where the trim bolts up to was filled with putty i presume?

has anybody done this to their car?
    or reverse processed?
    or come across this before?
i plan on reverting all the damage that was done & restore her back to
the original oem look without simply buying a new trunk.
i want to work with what i got & what god gave me

    heres a few photos:

When I first saw a chaved trunk, i thought it was so weird and hideous. I stil do think it is lol. But I would hit up the junkyards. A trunk from the jy would be alot cheaper and easier than trying to undo the shaved trunk

If metal was welded in, you're never going to be able to return it to stock. If it's just Bondo or body filler, you should be able to chip it out. It'll be a major pain in the ass, but it's doable. You'll need to repaint to match after you're done, obviously... so it really won't be any different than if you just got a new trunk, fenders, and doors. Getting replacement parts will cost a bit more, but it'll save you the headache of chipping away at filler!

Run a magnet across the trunk to see what's Bondo and what isn't. That trunk probably weights a ton.

        C-3PO's MRT USDM yo!

then i see my baby, suddenly I'm not crazy,
It all makes sense when i look into her eyes

that's pretty smart Quashish ill run a magnet across it soon,
if its all metal i'm gonna just do what deevergote & buzz11 said & buy
JY trunk because im not looking forward to drill & cut all that stuff out.
the door moldings i believe were filled
with Bondo tho because i chipped some off edge.
it was white & putty looking LOL
gonna run a magnet thru the doors too tho just to make sure.

          thanks for your input guys!

If it was solid bondo, that would be multiple gallons and 20-30 pounds. It would have cracked and fallen off the first time the trunk was popped. That being said, it still looks like a ghetto job. You're much better off to just get another trunk.

If you just want to see how they did it, an angle grinder with a heavy duty wire wheel is your friend. DEFINITELY make sure you wear thick gloves, long sleeves, and plenty of eye/face protection, though. Those wire wheels like to throw those little wires EVERYWHERE.

Do you have any pics of the doors?
