ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Oem/After Market front Bumper CB7/CB9 compilation

Has anyone made a compilation of the different front bumper cover options we have available for the CB7/CB9 chassis?
I searched for anything that would help me out but found no such thread. thanks.

There's a lip thread, and a thread for 9091 vs 9293 differences, but as far as I've found we don't have anything comparing wagons to sedans to coupes - which we need, imo, as well as trim levels and factory differences and options comparing the different world markets. If I was an expert on this car's variations I'd do it myself, but I'm not so educated in that field.

There are only a handful of generic body kits you can get for our cars and only a handful of people on here are into that stuff.

Maybe I'm being a negative nancy, but I don't see the point, you either have a 90-91 bumper, a 92-93, or a wagon bumper. That applies for 99% of this forum. I can only think of one guy in this entire community of 30,000 people that had an aftermarket "aero" bumper, and it was to fit a large intercooler.

There have definitely been more than one. In fact, there have been many. But it's not as popular as it used to be. I'm still with Joey. There isn't much of a point as most of the aftermarket bumpers available now are very cheap in quality these days as the big companies have pulled out. There are just 4 OEM bumpers available for the CB with derivations from those based on trim level and license plate provisions.

Oh I didn't mean to say that there's only one guy, as I'm sure there are many, but only one member who was clearly "visible" to the whole community. But that's just my opinion.

the available lips look much better than the aftermarket bumpers that are available now. IMO they all look very bulky.

Ok, so there is only 4 front bumper cover Oem options for the CB7/CB9 chassis?
Even if there is so few I think a visual glossary would be of great benefit for beginners and people who may not know the different trim levels.
Something along the lines of the Lip Thread which is a great sticky.
maybe merging a front bumper section to the lips thread might be some help, if the front bumper subject isn't dense enough for it's own thread!

I'd do it myself but I'm new to the CB9 game and was curious about the "4 different bumpers available to us" (not counting bumpers that swap over from other chassis with a little modifications, aftermarket etc....)
can any one concur with the 4 different bumper options?

There are only 3 bumpers. Whichever trim you might have, you only know there are 2 other options. The wagon really isn't even a 3rd option as it's just a copy of the previous two. So you either have one, or get the other. There's nothing to compile.

Here's the '90-'91 LX/EX/SE coupe/sedan bumper. The DX trim had the same bumper only in a non-painted, textured finish.

Here's the '91 wagon front bumper. It protrudes a bit near the trim for no apparent reason other than Honda wanted to have reinforced bumper beams on the wagon models. Also, below the driving lights is smooth whereas the coupe/sedan bumper is a patterned area with a defined outline to cut out for foglights. Foglight can go in these, too but they need seals to hide the gaps.

Here's the '92-'93 coupe/sedan LX/EX coupe/sedan front bumper. The DX model was completely textured like the '90-'91 and the 10th Anniversary and SE had a smooth surface where the textured black trim usually is because those models were completely painted. Other than that it's essentially the same thing.

The '92-'93 wagon was effectively the same only the top section protruded out again. Still, it was a much closer resemblance to the sedan/coupe bumper than the pre-facelift model was. Most people don't even realize it.

Then you have the JDM sedan bumper that has a recess in the area where the license plate bracket goes. Disregard the fact that this one is black. They're usually the same color as the rest of the bumper. These are available for both the '90-'91 and the '92-'93.

All can be cut out for foglights. There are '90-'91 foglights and '92-'93 foglights. Their fitment with their respective bumpers is determined by specific brackets.

What you see when you look at the front of your car is called the bumper cover. The bumper is behind it.
