ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

My trunk is like a cement block!

So my trunk doesnt have the little springs or shock things to hold it up, its a bit of a pain in the butt! I have no idea what those things are even called so I can't even begin to look for what I need lmao. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

They are called trunk springs / Torsion springs.

You can get them from Honda, or your local junkyard.

you wouldnt cause theyre just two long metal rods preloaded then snapped into the hangers, and force your trunk up when opened

With my civic i keep having an issue where the trunk falls down with the slightest bit of wind or if its sitting on a slight hill. Do these springs wear out or something? It doesn't make sense that they would.

they could.. but in the accord at least, there are 3 notches the ends can pop into, perhaps these were to take up "slack" after years of cycles. are there two bars? you can get away with one ive seen but the assist is minimal but better then lifting dead weight.

Either one is broken/missing, Or a spoiler has been fitted without fitting the stiffer rods.

enough to have a fine layer of dust on everything but minez cool cause i got rid of the wing, pop the lever and the trunk opens for me lmao. i will move these bars to the new shell as it has a gawdy aftermarket wing (gone) but i like the auto open contemplating struts from a similar chassis

So I called my local dealer, looks like they have discontinued making/selling these trunk shocks.. So lame. Any ideas besides a junk yard? I want new parts.

junkyard then. Never seen trunk springs wear out or break, so used ones will work fine.

Do you think sedan/coupe ones would work the same?
