My driver side window rolls down fine, but when I roll it up, it gets off track, and juts out of line, creating a gap in the door and the glass. I think it's my window regulator, but I'm not sure.

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

It's the regulator. There's a plastic bit that breaks off, and what you have happening is the result.Originally posted by Quashishhahaha

New regulator, unfortunately. They're not terribly expensive, thankfully. Rockauto has them. ********* probably does as well.
I have to replace mine, in fact.
Be careful when installing. Be sure to adjust it properly, and be sure the bolts are tight. I didn't adjust mine properly, and the two center bolts came loose. They sawed their way through the metal on my door, ruining the mounting holes. I may need to get a new door to ever have a properly functioning window (which means ANOTHER paint job!) I blamed the cheap part at first, but I think the reason was probably my careless installation.
Also, if you want to lubricate your window tracks, use powdered graphite. Don't use any petroleum or silicone based spray. Also, don't clean the "dirt" off the sides of the window glass. That's graphite. It's supposed to be there. (again, speaking from personal experience!)

If you have a kragen or O'riley's in your area they sell you a new or refurbished motor and regulator has a lifetime warranty.

It is possible to remove the plastic part from the regulator. I have had to do that on my rear windows when they had the same issue you are having. I went to the junkyard and removed the plastic parts from cars there and then replaced mine with them. Cost me $5 at my yard for 4 of them. Possible alternative for you if you cant or dont want to afford a whole new regulator. Need to take some caution though cause you can break them taking them off and on.

take a picture of the weather stripping next to the mirror.. that's where my issue is.. and from the looks of it, could be your issue as well.
