ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Replacing headliner?

Have a 92 lx sedan, and my headliner has gone all to shit. Anyone know the best way to go about replacing this?

remove and reupholster it. the PO of my car put black velvet all over the place including the headliner. looks like they used some contact adhesive on the original material then laid down the velvet and tucked it..it looks ok in my tan/black interior, but the rear package shelf is now purple from the UV's

Check out the OEM distributors, like Magestic Honda, etc. If that doesn't prove successful, check out your local JY.

I found one in better shape than mine from a guy parting one out. I have seen some still in pretty good shape in cars in salvage yards. They are a little tedious to remove; just a lot of trim and screws to remove. Once all the screws are out, there are two hangers at the rear end, slide the headliner forward and it drops down. It is pretty flimsy, be careful not to bend it.

Ive found some nice headliners at the junkyard, thankfully mine doesn't need replacing though. I want to put a moon roof in my car but all the sunroof head liners i've found were torn up.

The hardest part about doing a headliner is getting the new one in the car without it getting jacked up. They are pretty thin and can bend at anytime. You might want to get another pair of hands just in case.

For spray adhesive, I use 3M super 77 on all my interior linings

I was also thinking of redoing my headliner. Do you guys have any suggestions of types of fabric that would or wouldn't work well?
