ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

The OP is concerned with tire wear. If that works for you, great. But I wouldn’t go around recommending people change tires every 3000 miles instead of doing a proper drop with the right camber and keeping a set of tires for a year or two.

Especially with junkyard tires... they could be mismatched, dryrotted, internally damaged, etc...

For a daily driven car, I don't see the sense in making it dangerous just to look "cool" (and "cool" is a relative term... because people that realize how dangerous it is don't think you look cool at all!)

Function, reliability, cleanliness, maintained, improved. Those are what I see when something is "cool".

That’s what went through my head. I got a junkyard tire once that ended up being dry rotted. It blew a few days after putting it on and took my fender well out and ripped all the wires from the engine fuse box to the in car fuse box. That was a PITA to rewire. All the wires were bare, fuses were blown, and shit was melted.

This was on a newer Hyundai.

You have camber kits yet your shit still has all this negative camber, it looks like you just slammed your shit with no kit at all... Whats the use of purchasing the hardware when you don't use it?

Can a camber kit even correct a 5/4 drop?

They maybe "extreme" kits that would at least correct it to more tolerable levels.
Honestly, if you're so low that a camber kit can't bring you back to a reasonable amount of negative camber, if not zero, then you're probably so low that your shock/spring setup is pretty much useless... unless you've performed other modifications to address that issue (extended tophats, for example.)

Yeah, thats not "cool". If a camber kit wont fix it, your too low.

How low is too low? There is your answer^^^

I don't know but his shit isn't on the ground so its correctable for sure. I had a CB with Sprint Extremes and Koni yellows back in the day, which most definitely gave me atleast a 4 inch drop. I had a ball joint kit up front and washers in the back, and my camber was pretty much straight. Dude's front doesn't even look like its adjusted at all...

Beyond the tire issue, negative camber just looks like shit. Especially when your front camber is way more negative than the back (which is how most people's shit looks like when the lower it). I don't know, maybe its just me but I can't roll like that.

his looks excessive for some reason. mines on coilovers and im pretty sure its a little more than 4" of drop and it doesnt look near that bad... maybe his setup combo is clashing somehow?

On the front most ball joint kits and anchor bolts will only go +3. So you could run both and get to +6. Other than that, you'd have to make custom control arms.

I wish I could trade my heart for an extra liver, just so I can drink more and care less.

Some negative camber is good. If you want to tack your car you will want more negative camber. The more side wall your car has the more negative camber you can get by with.

never understood this negative camber trend :/

i remember back in the day people would flame on people for not correcting the camber after lowering their cars. now the same people (or group of people) are the ones on this camber trend lol.
sorry for that random burst, just thought it was kinda funny how times change

Agreed. I remember the days when 15" or 16" wheels meant you were poor. Or if your car had stock bumpers, side skirts, hood, head lights, or tail lights, nobody considered your car to be "modified".

I love when I see suspension questions in the "appearance" section. It shows the mindset of the person making the thread... and in most cases, their ignorance toward the effects of modifying the suspension.
