ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Mounting seats to a bracket

I've read on the forum about a hundred times drilling out the rivets for seat rails is hard but i am a capable human so it shouldn't be that bad. Yeah... it's hard... I'll never do that again.

I got these brackets from amazon for about $35 each. They are really sturdy but i want to make sure that i mount these safe enough to not fly out of the car if i have some kind of accident.

The way the seat bracket is made is that it has this thick round bar mounted to the top of the bracket and it makes the bracket almost impossible to flex. My RSX seats sit perfectly on the round bar so I'm planning to take it to get the seat welded the entire length of the round bar on both sides. When i removed the feet from the RSX seats a couple were welded and riveted into the seat. Is this just easier for production or is that actually a safer setup?

Would my thoughts of just welding the RSX seat to the round bar on the bracket be a good choice or is there somthing else i should be concerned about?

welding them all the way back should be good just make sure the welder knows what he/she is doing.

The brackets i ordered will actually let me bolt my rsx seats through the holes where the rivets used to be right into my bracket.

isnt that round bar threaded? if so then you can make l brackets and have the height adjustable.

well the side driver seat for the rsx is height adjustable. I'm not really concerned about the passenger side. Nice idea though.

Yeah i'll just go with the weld front to back. I'm going to take it to a shop that builds 4x4 offroad trucks and cages and such. They should know how to weld. I would probably save some money if i got some like yours otto07 and time too.

        Those rivets - never again

wedge engineering calls them "wedge kits" basically just an l bracket and one side has three holes so you can adjust the height manually.

rsx seats are nice though. i want to get a rsx just for the seats lol

I paid 90 a bracket with custom mounting points. It all depends on how much the welder charges.
