ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Eibach Springs\Stock Shocks Question

I bought some Eibach springs but I was advised by a s2000 tuner not to install them because the aftermarket springs are too much pressure for the stock shocks and would break the stock shocks.... I know this is the beginner forums but I was wondering if anyone had any good or bad experience with sport springs on stock shocks

    Thanks,

Lowering springs should NEVER be used on stock shocks. Not only will the performance be terrible, it will actually be very dangerous.

So what can I do? I don't see any eibach shocks for 93 accords.

Why would you need Eibach shocks?

I suggest a set of Koni Sport (yellows).

You'll have to purchase shocks designed for the drop of the springs they will be paired with. Browse through the suspension settings to see what your options are. Using aftermarket springs on stock shocks will blow the shocks and compromise the abilities of your suspension.

Thanks for the replies, looks like I'll just have to wait to get lower...
The Koni STR.T Sport Shocks look pretty good.

STR.T and Sport are two different models. Depending on which Eibach springs you have, the STR.T may not be right for them. They are only good up to a certain height and spring rate.

Tein claims their springs can be used with the OEM shocks.

Not all of them. Tein has one offering for our cars that is a VERY mild drop (like, under an inch), and the spring rates are close to stock.
Still not a smart thing to do if the shocks are 20 years old.

OP, on a side note: When you do install these springs (with the appropriate shocks) on your car, make sure you flip the rear springs the right way up. The previous owner appears to have mounted them upside-down.

Those rear Eibach springs have a progressive springrate. The part of the spring that has the coils spaced closely together should be mounted near the top hats.

                      @deevergote it's a 2" drop too much for stocks I guess.

@Nurega thanks, while I was lining them up for the picture I found it odd that the Eibach icon was upside down.

Yes, a 2" drop would be one of their more extreme springs. Very high spring rate. They would destroy stock shocks very quickly.

True. I have the S-Techs, and I didn't get much of a drop out of them. Car rides like stock, I can't even tell it's lowered when compared to my wagon.

All I can say is be careful guys.
Kurt, the guy from craigslist told me these where eibach shocks/struts and once I got home I noticed 'Honda' engraved in on the struts..

Still dont think it was a rip because Eibach springs and replacement Struts/Shocks isn't bad for 80 bucks.

Well only count the springs because those struts are probably junk now.
