ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

a quick wipe down with laquer thinner should do the trick for you. And yes that was base clear black, verry deep, verry shiney, as you can see my dog outside the back door, in my last photo on the hopper.

I've seen many black chrome wheels, and they seem to be super shiney black, so more or less, a very well prepped surface before painting or powder coating.

edit: my fingers seem to get away from me while spelling very.

I guess the look I was hoping for with the black chrome spray is almost like a deep wet look... basically, like a dark translucent overlay on chrome.

I might give it a shot. I think the spray kit is only 20 bucks or so, and the hood lip on my CTS-V is quite easy to remove.
Brandon, would I be able to safely remove spray paint from a chrome surface without damaging the chrome? I figure you'd know better than most.
I recently repainted the grill on my CB with the Black Chrome system. I had used the Duplicolor kit the first time and I used the same kit to repaint it again the second time. To strip then and prep the grill to repaint it I used Aircraft aluminum paint stripper. It took a few rounds but eventually I got all the old paint off without any damage to the chrome finish. Don't use any type of scuff pad when stripping so not to scratch the chrome. I basically applied paint stripper, waited like 5 minutes and wiped off what i could with Scotts Blue shop disposable towels.

Here are some pics i have.

originally painted with 3 coats of Duplicolor tint

      freshly stripped

re-painted with 6 coats of tint come out to a real rich and deep black color, like a black candy.
