ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Driving lights

I have ponder'ed how to do this in a cb. i want to have a system like the Gmc,Chevy trucks have where you put your car in drive and the lights come on the doors lock you throw it in park and the doors unlock and the lights go out I think this would be fun there is probably a extent to cutting and spliceing oem harnesses but what kinda relays can i use ? i figure i can start at the gear shifter and when D4 is active all this happens for lights on and Park for unlock and no lights il have to look mabe i can splice into the hazzard or should i do the civic swap?

I think you should start by finding diagrams or how-tos for the GMC trucks that do it.

Once you find out how they are wired, you can take that info and apply it to the Accord.

I would think though, that the computer controls this.

    Is this new GMC?

Id bet that when the vehicle shifts into D, the computer tells the doors/lights to function.

So might be more work then it's worth.

Its probably more like, when its put into D it closes a relay that powers certain lights and sends power to the power door lock computer to act as if the switch had been pushed

Its probably simple to do but i don't see the point

I find those features to be annoying and ugly ( the DRL's that run your turn signals )

My Dad has a 2005 GMC Sierra, and from my understanding, it is all electronic. It has a driver info center where you can change the preferences for door unlocking (park, key out, etc), so it is definitely computer controlled. When I’ve driven it, you can turn the DRL’s off by moving the switch on the dash to “off”. They automatically turn on next time you start the vehicle. I think DRL’s are integrated in to the automatic light system on it, because it is an SLT. For example, at night the headlights automatically turn on, leaving the little DRL lights off.
DRL’s drive me nuts because every other GMC or Chevy truck/ SUV I see on the road has one burnt out. Nonfunctioning lights drive me crazy. Especially brake lights, but body lights too. I always switch ‘em off, because if people can’t see the truck, well, they’re probably blind.

I love my DRL`s, I have Yellow Halogens in there so it looks good in the day, and even better at sunset time with the parking lights on.
Plus its a safety thing, helps other blind azz drivers see you better, since their all idiots and don`t know how to drive in the 1st place

You'd be better off building a sub-harness than splicing the stock wiring. Splicing the stock harness is a bitch if something goes wrong!

In a newer vehicle like that, its all digital. There is a Body Control Module that controls all the functions, its basically an ECU that controls the HVAC, lights, power seats, etc
