ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    wet sanding

i never did wet sanding b4 my hoods clear coatings coming off paints still there just thinking i can make it look some better till i can paint.

whats your thinking am i dum dum? lol or is it worth it? or is there other ways how hard do u think wet sanding is?

wet sanding or colorsanding is great when you have a finish to work with. If not then it cant do much but make it smooth. Since your clear coat is gone, there will be no point. So if its a basic color, then do a quick spray paint, if not...then live with it until you paint.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

You could try to buff it out. I've saved some cars that looked like the clearcoat was shit! You just need good stuff and the right kind of pads. No need to even wet sand it!

try using an orbital on a high speed. my car was dull as hell and meguiars 105 made it shine beautiful. i still have to do the 205. just go with the body lines and over lap. dont stay in one spot for to long.

Could we see some before and after if you have them?
            Thanks.

I do not have a before. Well i don't have any actual pictures of the paint, But i can look around my phone and see if i have any pictures with my car in them. I will take some pictures of what it looks like now. i did this about three weeks ago this saturday. i personally am a super perfectionist and it was dark before i could finish, so im most likely going to go over the car again with 105 on the driver side. There are some areas that need wet sanding too. Once i get the 205 process complete the car should finally have the depth and nice crazy shine im looking for. Orbitals take time, i think there fun, personally.

Ill post up pics after i get out of work

In this picture this is technically the before. I used a rotary buffer with a wool pad last june. at that time i happened to buff the hood and two front fenders. this picture is actually bad for showing before and after lol

this picture is an actual after. this is the passenger door with the reflection of the "objects in mirror are closer than they appear" from the mirror. this came up much smaller than it was suppose to.

And this picture is of the hood from last june. later on after work ill get more pictures from the most recent.

lemme know what you think. Bad pictures for comparison though

                I tried!

grab some good compound. autozone should have meguiars 105 for around 30 bucks. take a towel and rub an area to test the area. you should be able to get a good idea what your out come will be from that. i like to match how many times i go up and down to left and right.
