ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

ebay is fine to buy parts, just stay away from the cheap stuff. Read all info in the sellers details carefullly, and make sure its a 100% brand new, authentic item you are purchasing. My koni sport yellows and tein S-techs springs were bought from ebay.

You didn't even click the link, did you?

This isn't even the correct site for you, though most aftermarket suspension information will apply to you as well. This site is for 90-93 Accords. www.cd5tuner.com is the site focused on your model.

Just like me, "I want to lower my car for cheap" when in fact this is just a waste of time and money. Yes anyone can lower their car for cheap, heat/cut springs, and slap coilovers on stock struts. I bought the 50 dollar "coilovers" from ebay, wasted my time and money having them installed only to have them come out days later. It rode like it should for 50 bucks.....like shit! Just do it right the first time, you won`t regreat it. Save your money and buy the expensive stuff the first time, either a full coilover or strut/spring, whatever your application. I did tons of research on this exact topic before i decided to buy, then I joined the site. Ebay is a good place to get parts, usually at good price, just read details carefully, make sure its an authentic product you are purchasing. As a daily driver Idecided to go with a spring/strut set-up, Koni Sport Yellow with Tein S-Techs. I can`t tell you how it rides, still waiting on parts good luck!

DanCan, I couldn't have said it better myself.

Not only will the ride suck with cheap suspension parts, it will also be dangerous. If you can't lower your car safely, don't do it at all. Pick something else to modify with your limited budget that won't put your life at risk (or the lives of those in your car, or in your path.) Or go buy a different car that already sits really low.

Suspension is tricky. There are options that are REALLY cheap... but they're dangerous. Do your research, and do it right. Being cheap or careless with suspension stuff can be dangerous and costly. At the very least, you may end up doing damage to your car that costs more to fix than a proper suspension setup would have!

There is a thread, probably a "sticky" thread by now, that tells you how to put together a decent suspension setup for about $500. I'd suggest looking for that. To be quite honest, you won't be safely lowering your car for any less than $500. $750 or so is more likely.
