ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Okay, and do you know how long it would last without chipping or fading?

How long it lasts all comes down to the prep work and how abusive you are on your interior.

In the 10 years I've been modding cars and painting stuff, I have never had any painted interior parts other than door sills scuff and peel on me.

SEM Interior coating or Krylon Fusion.

Ive used the Krylon Fusion and the Duplicolor plastic paint and they are both really good.. But the big key is the prep and patience!

Scuff with grey scotchbrite and wipe down with wax and grease remover or something similar like denatured alcohol. Then either spray with a plastic paint like mentioned above such as krylon fusion or SEM color coat

You dont necessarily have to scuff the surface. I was told not to. All I did was degrease mine.

I have had no adhesion issues with painting plastic interior pieces without sanding or scuffing.

Scuffing isn't necessary. But it helps a ton as far as adhesion goes I did mine white in my z24 I sanded primed wet sanded gave it an alcohol bath then painted with code matching paint. Then added a coat of spray glitter from walmarts craft section little wet sand to knock down all the bumps and one final coat of straight clear never cracked or peeled. Also sanding down textured interior pieces to smooth and prepping them right when their painted they will look like their glassed

                          That red looks horrendous.

Use the SEM products...quality and thats what the detail guy uses at the car lot I work at.

I painted the panels in my first car with the wrinkle paint years ago. I preferred the wrinkle to the smooth because it was easier and I didn't have to make everything perfectly smooth. And it looked really nice.
