Unemployed: Need a decent polisher, need ideas.

When I said power i meant "Juice" i don't know of any battery powered DA;s or Rotary machines.. but i've never done the research.

Sorry let clarify things.. DA's have a random orbit nature which means that it generates less heat than a rotary. It's more gentle so correction work typically takes longer. But it is also safer to use and easier to learn which makes it the ideal beginners tool.
a rotary polisher can develop significant heat on the paint which can lead to paint burns in the hands of an inexperienced user.

I see. If juice is the concern, I would see if I can get spare batteries. I just need convenience to do it any where. I like to do it at my storage area but it has no plug in. They don't want it more likely.
As for burn marks. I got some of those on my trunk area from the previous owner. Any suggestions on those? I guess you cannot correct those ha?

Just to answer...I get what is called SSI, which is Social Security Income. I get it because I worked since 16 (now 55) and it is given for permanent disability. I had Conjestive Heart Failure, Heart Attack, and Stroke. I finally had a triple bi-pass. Nothing with unemployment.
For some income...you can ask your neighbors if they wouldn't mind your cord and you waxed their cars for $20. Since you are in O.C. (California?) I know the prices of wax jobs at car washes....way more than $20.

Thanks for the encouragement. I just recently lost it June of this year. You lost your job in 2009. It's tough but I am not the only one. So I got that to go on with.

I guess my paint wasn't as bad as I thought. I used swirlX and ultimate compound and got most of the swirls gone. I said most b/c it's not a dark color car so hot sun shining on it I might see more. For now it's mirror finish so I am happy.
I found the aggressiveness rating from Maguiar's site, hope it can help some one.

By the way, I use the drill attach polisher I got at Harbor Freight Tools a year ago. The product is discontinued now.

i would look for mothers brand.they make good stuff and for a reasonable price.ive had mine for 3 years and running.also since your unemployed wouldnt it make more since to get another or longer cord to add to your extenstion?

A multi speed Dewalt rotory buffer, can make great haste when getting agresive scratches out, a orbital buffer, is great for the final polish and wax.
