ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

how to cover the black mold on front and rear bumpers

hello, i wasnt sure to post it as fiberglass molds, or bumper repairs, cause im not even repairing it, but anyways

as u know already the honda accords have that black mold in the center of the front and rear bumpers.

i was going to make a complete new fiberglass mold of both of them, so i wont have that black center mold,

my friend came up with an idea, that maybe we can use a type of plastic bondo and cover the moldings, then sandem down real good and all that good stuff, would that work?

do you guys have any other ideas for it, maybe someones done it before, oh where can i go on the site to search for specific posts, sorry i new to this thanks...

    Mold?

I'm not sure what you're looking to do. Are you trying to give the front bumpers a shaved look?

on the front and rear bumpers, there are that black molding like whats on the side of the car, im just wondering if anyone has ever coverd them with like plastic bondo or fiberglass or anything, if not then ill just do my original plan, and make fiber glass bumpers for the rear and front.

Do you have enough experience with fiberglass? Cause I foresee a very dim future and outcome with this idea.

Personally, if youre going to use bondo and only bondo to fill in the trim, it will probably look horrible about 6 months after you do it...

no, i would be going over the moldings on front and rear, if it were the sides (since i have them off) then i would be filling, sorry but this is starting to seem like an argument i dont want any problems here

maybe i should have been more specific, sorry, how about instead of mold change that to moldings on the front n rear bumpers, not molds.

im not talking about the lips either

here check this out this is what im talking about

the white writing says " i want these these coverd, these black things on the front and rear bumpers"

thank you all for helping me

They are not separate mouldings on the bumper like on the side of the car. They are part of the bumper skin (stick your hand behind the bumper skin on the side, you should be able to feel it). If you try to sand them down even with the bumper skin above and below them, you'll go through the bumper cover and be left with upper and lower pieces. If you want a smoother look, you can fill in the areas above and below the black with bumper repair materials (two part), then sand it, but it will still protrude beyond the rest of the bumper. Unfortunately, I've only seen this in small packages for local repairs. You're probably better off with an aftermarket bumper cover than trying to fabricate your own, but it's your car.
