ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Legend Front Lip Repair

So I got a Legend Front Lip today. It has some deep scratches on it. I would like to know how to repair them with what materials [sanding grit, filler? , primer, and black trim paint?] thanks

I think just sanding might be your best bet. Might not get rid of all of the scratches, especially with the deeper ones (mine looked like it was ran over a curb quite a few times when I got it). Throw on some black trim paint and call it a day.

Filler or bondo on a plastic piece like that will eventually look like a hot mess if you scrape it on a couple steep driveways, even more so if you're lowered.

Hope this helps, throw up some before and after pics once you get it done.

Well if it has a crease from hitting a corner not necessarily scracthes you can torch them out with some heat from the back side of the lip and use something with a rounded edge to push it back. can also do this to small scracthes as well since your going to be respraying it anyways(experiment with it).

as for paint I found that rust-oleum semi gloss black look the closet to have the oem look and holds up pretty good as far as ageing goes.

if you use a filler like bodo it will probably give and fall off cause of road conditions and flexing from air hitting at higher speeds or side walk lol.

you can use a primer filler but you'll lose that pittiness look that the plastics
      have

      just my 2cents.

Scuffs are not too bad one thing lots of people forget about is JB welds its awsome on plastic/ABS. Put a small coat over the scuffed areas, cracks, holes ect. then sand down the JB welds till its nice and smooth and flush with the rest of the lip. Then prime/paint it. My brother in laws lip was cracked completely in half JB welds did wonders for it.

^ haha yes, I was going to suggest the JB Weld fix as well. Fixing scraped up plastic panels is very hard without investing a lot of time into it if you want to keep the original texture without smoothing the whole thing out.

            Nice counter tops btw.

              I'll look into that. Thanks

You asked if it was a sedan or coupe lip. If you don't know personally (you didn't pull the part off the car yourself), you'll find out when you slap it on your bumper. If its about an inch from being flush with your bumper on each side then its a sedan lip; if it mounts perfectly flush, its a coupe lip. Coupe lips are harder to come by, usually.

You can also try flexable plastic poly filler, then primer and paint.

Sorry about all the glare in the pictures. It came out pretty well. I'm not worried about it being all perfect, it's probably going to scratch up anyway since LA streets are crappy. Thumps up or down ?
