ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    leather suggestion

    Hello guys
I am getting my CB7 next tuesday finally.
I believe the car is at complete stock condition and I am expecting overall condition would not be so great.
I am considering changing front, rear seat with leather.
Is there any place that sells premade leather seat covers for our cars?
I did some search, however, only info I can find was for custom leather wrapping which cost quite a lot.
If you guys have any suggestions, please enlighten the noob.
    Thank you in advance.

tasauto.com has leather upholstery kits. I have never used the kit, nor have I even seen one installed, so you are on your own there. Perhaps someone else on here has used it.

These are re-upholstry kits, not "seat covers."

For sedans and coupes it's about $780.

    Wagon- $845.

Thank you very much for your prompt response.
The price is quite more than I expected.
Maybe I can get buckets for front and get similar color leather for rears.
Now, if anyone has any experience with the product, any comment will be appreciated.

katzkin also has very high quality kits. A good leather kit is going to be expensive. A cheap one will fit like a cheap one, wear like a cheap one, and look like a cheap one. If you're going leather, do it right. Installation will likely be damn near the cost of the kit as well, and it's a fairly complicated thing to install yourself (you CAN do it, but I personally would not want to...)

Really? I looked at the instructions, and it seemed like a hell of a lot of things that could end up looking really terrible if you screwed up! I also stripped the upholstery off of one of my 86 Accord's seats, thinking I could just make my own upholstery for it (in theory, it was a good idea!)... it's much more complicated than it seems... all those clips and retaining rings and such...

Then again, I don't have the patience or meticulous eye for detail you have, Brian!

              Thx Deev.
              You are right.
We usually get what we pay for.
As far as installation, I can be patient, however, worried about ruining new leather kits by making stupid mistakes.
              I will look into Katzkin.

Great write up with extremerly helpful installation guides.
After reading through the guide, I want to give it a try.
What are the chances that I damage the kit during installation?
If not high, I definetely want to give it a try.

                      Hello Guys
Finally picked up the car today and drove it home.
As was expected, many things need to be done to the car to bring it back to good shape. Instead of doing leather first, I assume it will be better to start with performance related issues first then move to cosmetic issues later.
If my budget allows, for sure leather is on top of my list also.
                      Thx for all the information!
