ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Waxing

    Sup guys,

I was wondering what do you guys use for wax....

I take like 5 1/2 hours to detail my car....

I alway wash my car with blue coral with a light power washer

For wax I use NU one year car wax every 3 months, then I wait a day and I use meguars carbanua wax and then I use ICE liquid polish....

For scratches I use the meguars scratch remover, it works on minor scratches

For the rims I have a write up, check it out

    ALWAYS ALWAYS use microfiber cloths!

Then I take the car to the gas station and vacuum and shampoo my carpets and then I condition my leather with this armor all leather conditioner in cleaner in a black bottle, use a terry cloth with that.....

For the interor dash I use the armor all product, spray (recomended on a terry cloth) or wipes

For the windows just use a little bit of dawn soap and water and just put it in a spray bottle and wipe off with a microfiber cloth

Post what you do for waxing/ detailing....feel free to ask questions about detailing to me, I'd be happy to help

in my opinion, all armorall, turtle, and nu finish products belong in the trash because of the low grade silicone's that's in them.

but let me say that not all silicone's aren't a bad thing. it's the type that matters. there are literally thousands of different types of silicone's. some are awesome. later.

I use mothers products almost exclusively. My detail process starts with dawn dishsoap to strip off the old wax, then clay bar, then mothers 3-step wax process finishing up with their gold class paste wax.

I wash the car daily at my dealership i work at, all i know is its a wash and wax. I then use spray maguire's spray wax as well as maguire's spray detailer. I then use mother's carnuba wax about once a week. For the interior i use turtle wax F21 interior wax, i use armour all wipes for smaller areas. For windshield I use either Sprayaway aresol window cleaner, rain x aresol window cleaner, or 3M aresol window cleaner, and use a microfiber towel to wipe. As far as what cloths I use, i use what the product calls for, either 100% terry cloths or microfiber towels. For tires I typically use the tire dressing our dealership uses, we buy it in bulk, its like a white paste and it lasts weeks. Wheel cleaner, again it's maguires.

I find that hard to believe. My father and I have been applying Armor-All on the interior plastics/dash every month since he bought the Accord in 1990. My only complaint with it is the feeling of greasiness for the first few days after application.
Would you instead recommend using Mother's interior-cleaning products?

I just got done waxing the ish out of my car. I started with Mothers car wash soap. Then I used mothers claybar kit to take the grime out of the paint. I followed the claybay with a German product called Klasse (it's a red bottle). I finished with another Klasse product called Glaze (silver bottle). I was very careful with the glaze as it is harder to remove completely. I did very small sections at a time. Also be sure to do all waxing in a shades area. All wax was removed with micro fiber towels. Car looks amazing now.

I avoid all armorall products entirely except as tire shine. Tires get replaced. Interior, not so much. I have been using a product call 303. I use this product on all my interior vinyl and exterior moldings. I find that armorall dries things out if you stop using it. Since you have leather interior I would recommend a product called Lexol. Just use it on your leather not vinyl. There are some others vynil prtectants/cleaners I havnt tried yet but I will as soon as my current inventory runs out. I want to try a Klasse product. They make both a vynil and leather treatment that I have never tried. I figured that their wax was so good it's worth trying their other products as well.

I have worked at a local small chain autoparts store since 1998 and so far these products have worked well for me.

I've tried clay bar before and it works great! Type G, you actually right, thats why I use meguars first, the ICE is just for making it shine for like a week, I love mothers products! Doesn't dawn strip the paint though, :/ I might get my car repainted soon so yeah....IKR nurega, it works well but its kinda sticky, I just have a low budget for making my car shine....I just dust it almost every day and then its clean for a while, I use meguars for the tires too, its in a clear bottle with this clear solution in it with an applicator pad, it actually works quite well, I will take all the recommendations and try as much as I can

Whew! Thank you! I was gonna say this in another thread yesterday when someone suggested they always used Armorall ..
OMG that stuff is an incredibley horrible product!

My body and paint guy says the same thing. He says that when you use it, you HAVE to continue using it.
If you don't, your leather, plastic, etc .. just try out faster and it actually PROmotes cracking!

Shittiest product on the market IMHO ..

cb's use a vinyl that is quite durable. thinking about it, i can't say that i've ever seen a cb with a cracked dash. i have seen armorall crack other car dashes and rubber plenty of times though. if you've been using it that long you may not want to stop. later.
