ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Hid in fog lights question?

I really don't know how to put this but...I'm looking at some es300 yellow fogs for my dads s2k and i want to put Hids in them but most hid kits plug into the factory harness and which i dont have...is it possible to put hids in with a universal harness or do i need the es300 factory harness to do so???
    Thanks...

A universal harness should work just fine. I would use one that goes directly to the battery, so you're not drawing extra power through the OEM wiring... that can overload it and cause problems. Does the S2k have any wiring in place for fogs at all? (I don't even know if fogs were an option on the S2k... I know so little about those cars, even though they're some of my favorite Hondas!)

its easy to wire in an auxilary harness to HID's.

just need power to a relay that runs to each Ballast. ground each ballast to the chassis.

the relay gets grounded to chassis as well and then you have a switch to turn them on. just a plain 12v signal to flip the throw on the relay.

on a standard SPDT Relay (single pole, double throw... most common) you use
85(12v power from headlight as switch)
      and 86(relay ground to chassis)
87 is 12v input from battery
30 is your 12v output to the ballasts

Each ballast should have - grounded to the chassis

That should be all you need....oh ya. and some 16g and 14g wire. No need to use any OEM wiring except the headlight + that way.

30 is your 12v signal switch (wire to a switch you put in the car or jump to a power at the headlights to get the fogs on when the lights are on)
and 87 is your power out to the ballasts. run 2 lines out of this (1 to each + on the ballast) and ground the - on the ballast to the chassis.

That should be all you need....oh ya. and some 16g and 14g wire. 14g goes to 85, 86, 87, and all of your grounds. 30 only needs to carry a signal voltage so it can be a smaller 16g wire..
Just so you know that is not correct pin 30 would be high current.

        85 ground (low current)
        86 12volt switched (low current)
87 12volt fused to battery (high current)
30 output to ballast (high current)

The way you have it the relay would be on 100% of the time and would only be a pass through.. The switch would still be high current... (The relay would serve no purpose)

your right honda never made fogs for the s2k when i said harness i ment the es300 fog light harness well how does the ballast hook into the universal harness the harness only has a positive and a negative lead going to the foglight???

oh yeah lol. im stuck thinking of the relay wiring for the alarm/rs i did in this 2011 hyundai the other day. Locks needed to relay wire into the factory alarm and lock detection....

was like murder. ill edit. thanks

the HID bulbs will come with wiring to the ballast. the harness from the fogs can plug into the ballasts with the 12v output from the relay going to each + and a chassis ground to each -.

We do not put that relay in anymore.... 1 in 5 will come back that the locks will not work over time.... We have a pretty high volume. At least 10+ 2011 Hyundai's a day.... for example on a 2011 Sonata non push I hook up

                Key unlock (orange) to disarm
                Lock detection (brown) to unlock
                Switch lock (white) to lock
