I did a trunk lid shave like that on a 95 Ford Contour and I am too embarrassed to post pics of it. That's how stupid it looked.

Fuck it. Basically same mods as the Accord above. Shaved side moldings and shaved trunk lid, but I left the reverse lights. Never got around to paint matching the trunk.

Otherwise, i know it's a matter of taste, but i think it alters completely the rear of the car. don't like it.

Two things for the legal part. The lic plate needs to have lights when moved, and you will still need reverse lights. But as stated before Your town police would have better info.

Also do not forget to move your trunk key access point. If you want it that is.

psssshhhhh, do minitruckers ever abide by the rules?

I almost had my B2200 impounded on the spot from a bunch of mods I had done to it when I got pulled over one time....including a relocated licence plate in the roll pan with no light.

As long as you relocate the license plate and reverse lights, I don't see any "legile" issues you'd have.
But check with your local PD to double check.

the rear end looks naked, not normal. wouldn't this be a safety hazard? if you look at the picture, the rear end trunk is basically a mirror now. headlights at night would reflect back at the person driving behind them. temporary blindness much? or am i wrong...

When I was younger a toalt newbi I liked the idea, but lookin at it now. I think ill pass.

I rather shave the plate from a 9293 trunkk and keep the inner tails

This example is a quality one. The green CB seems to been taken care and the shave job done right (not my style) but still quality work. I think maybe a change in color and red clears on back may look better. If you like it go for it just do it right because crappy body work and paint stick out like a sore thumb. Good luck.

Why not do like the R34 GTR Skyline and get a single Reverse light housing(Clear) to the right of the license plate area. If you wanna make it symmetrical then I would say get the left one(Red) as well and make that your custom Rear Fog.

Just a thought as this would allow you to Shave the entire trunk as you like....

IDK. how to take that looks kinda like a jetta's rear , but the custom work is done nicely. on the bench with that look .

Might look better if you kept the inner taillights but filled in the license plate area and then moved it to the bumper.

i don't like it.

Doesn't flow well with the clean straight lines of a cb.

the tail light is too small too flow with the rear of the car.

maybe if you also made the remaining tail light thinner in height... More of a rectangle than a square (like the orginial) it might work.
but that involves more fabrication and making of new holes in the housing to mount the bulbs.

... Then again, I still don't see that even looking better than oem.

HA HA! Im not sure the last time one of my bagged minis had anything close to legal in the tag department lol

Oh wait,.....the 98 dime i just sold had a single tag light hanging between the roll pan and tag....not my work but it was fine till it fell off one day
