i want to fabricate my hood & trunk lid..like on most
of the new model cars how they have the black padding under the hood
& under the trunk lid..any ideas of how i can get started with this?
who the be any car with it that would be compatible with what im trying to do?

the hood insulation exists in other countries i dont know why the usdm cars were never fitted with that feature. but as for the trunk there is none that was ever made. id look at sound deadening for that for the trunk.

Dynamat makes material especially for this...it just sticks on. It doesn't look as nice as the OEM euro stuff, but it does the job of deadening sound and blocking heat.

Flame resistant fabric and spray adhesive may work.

The benefits are mainly to help with engine warm up in cold weather. It does help protect paint fade slightly on the bonnet, and a slight reduction in engine noise.
