When installing a projector in place of the stock headlights is there any way to change the plastic light cover and replace it with the stock glass light cover?

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

but theyre not as fragile as the glass ones.
What do you mean by lots of silicone?
He means that your going to have to reseal them when you close them so use lots of silicone or else you will get condensation inside your lights.
Is it complicated to DIY or would I most likely chip the glass?
In the end if all you want is glass housings i would just buy the JDM lights as they come with glass housings and then do the retrofit with the DIY posted on here.

Why dont you just retrofit the projectors into your stock OEM glass headlight?Checkout my MR: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=165984

There seems to be confusion here.
First off- eBay projector headlights are all one pieces. The oem with glass are all two pieces. The oem one piecers are plastic. Point being is there are NO combinations that will have a glass lens that will work on a eBay housing.
There are three options.
1) retrofit your oem headlights with projectors. Best results and medium price. Find a jy for some projectors and you are golden.
2) jdm one piecers. These will still be plastic but better looking and quality than eBay. You can retrofit these as well. Rare.
3)eBay DOES sell a two piece style projector headlight. Glass lenses and oem quality, uses a projector for low beams and a stock reflector for highs. I've had these and the quality is good. They are hard to find though.
But, you WILL NOT have a glass lensed one piece. Ever.Last edited by darkfusion42; 02-09-2011, 05:02 PM.

Although if he had the know-how and wanted to, he COULD combine an eBay projector with an OEM 2 piece housing.
The glass is only for the low and high beam.....so when you remove the plastic front face off of the eBay projector you would have to affix the glass to the eBay projector and then fasten (somehow) the plastic OEM plastic to the glass/lamp.
Could be done, definitely not worth the effort obviously but not impossible.
