ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

No they won't, The height is different and so is the seat diameter.
Those and the fact that the Civic is a lighter car, so it won't ride very well.

they may "fit" but will never be correct. the CB has a completely different suspension geometry and weight distribution than any civic out there. all of that has to be taken into account when choosing springrates and dampener profiles-all of which are done by aftermarket manufacturers when they design a spring, shock, or coilover system for any specific car. adapting one from a totally different car is just asking for all kinds of adverse effects. worse case scenario would be that something breaks and you crash your car and die because you cheaped out on suspension parts.

generic springs usually have the same crazy high spring rate. they are also made very cheaply. i would not ever trust my life riding on cheap springs, especially ones made for a different car.

firsthand experience with no problem means you got lucky. that is all. i dont understand why kids today think its ok to ride on cheap suspension. it is extremely dangerous. i guess being slammed so they can be cool with their homies while still having enough money for dirt weed is worth the risk.

why would you make this generalization? We are in a recession you know...Not everyone has money falling out of their pockets to buy the best suspension available...so they get what they can get to get the look they want. Why do you think ebay vendors make so much money? They appeal to the lower class tuner. I agree that springs from a different car are a bad idea but when i first started tuning i remember buying ebay coilovers cause its all i could afford and had nothin to do with saving money for dirt weed. Maybe you should keep things like that to yourself. With all do respect.

i hate the term "you gotta pay to play" but it is very appropriate for suspension. you can get a good setup for around 300-500 and not endanger the lives of everyone you drive near. ebay vendors make a so much money because they make crappy copies of products that other people spent LOADS of money developing then go to china where they cant be sued and sell those copies to people who either dont know or dont care how damaging that is not only to our industry, but to the whole economy.

and no we arent in a recession anymore, we are on the upswing coming out of a slight dip that got blown out of proportion causing people to panic and make things worse.

                          Ebay Coilovers
-They suck, bad ride quality, bad performance, bad parts.
-They're extremely unsafe, for you, and the other drivers on the road.
-"You get what you pay for" definitely applies here.
-Suspension is one thing you DEFINITELY don't cheap out on.

And it's not about being cheap, it's just unsafe in general. Installing faulty or poor quality suspension parts is dangerous. Not just for you, but for the other drivers on the road. Generic ebay coilovers are prone to breaking or failing, I've seen it and heard about it. Spring breaks, you lose control of the car, you risk hitting other drivers on the road, in which you are endangering their lives, as well as your own.

If you can't afford quality parts to get "the look" you want, then don't bother modifying at all. You don't cheap out on important parts just because you can't afford quality parts. It's unfair to the other drivers on the road that you are putting in danger. "You have to pay to play" is one statement that definitely holds true to it's meaning. If you can't afford to pay, then you can't afford to play. It's as simple as that.

FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE i tried on some max speed ones and no they did not fit. the front ones will, but the problem is the rear, we have a longer shock and it rested on the shock itself instead of on the spring whitout it being on the car.
