ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

There aren't all that many colors to choose from, unfortunately. Black, white, blue, yellow, orange, green, and I think gray. Other colors exist, but I don't know if they're the same type of paint, and may not go on as well.

I would go with black or orange, personally.

I think I might go with a dark orange..... Or is mixing the colors going to effect anything?

Mixing shouldn't be a problem, as long as you're not using a color that doesn't adhere well (my experience with green... no good.) However, you'll have to be sure that you keep it consistent. If it settles and separates, then you could end up with one part of the car being a different color. Not to mention any touchup work would have to match perfectly, or be obvious.

Yeah, I'll just mix a lot of paint then just save an extra cup for touch up paint Thanks for all the help!

I know! Just do what I'm doing, get a quarter panel from a local junk yard and just practice till at least spring comes by Practice makes perfect!

My dad has a cube van with rolled on paint...not the prettiest. From a distance it looks fine but it's insanely difficult getting rolled on paint to look right. Does give the car a nice texture though. I'd just spray, especially if you have access to the tools.

I don't have the access to the right tools is the problem.. I work in auto body but I'm still in school and the teacher won't let me bring it in unless I throw down at least $1000 when I can fix it myself in the backyard for less than $200. If I had a spray gun I would definitely use that over the roller.

I think you should invest in a decent hvlp gun you can probably find a base coat and clear coat gun kit for like 120 sure there not what the pros use but it'll do the job. thats how i started out. although i have seen rolled on paint jobs and there not to bad but it seems like more of a hassle to me then just spraying it with a gun. which ever route you take good luck just do some good prep work and painting it should be a breeze.

I think my old man has a a sprayer for house paint he used on the garage he built on to his house. Would that produce better results? The walls were nice and even?
