ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    fog light blinkers

so i have a crazy idea. i am getting some headlights that have blinkers in the housing. so what if i got some clear bumper blinkers and wired them up to a switch and put hid's in them i could use them as fog lights. so my question is 1 do you think this is possible and 2 could i find hid's for them

FFrom what I read its possible to use them as fogs, but ive heard that they might melt from the heat since they arent meant to wiith stand so much heat for so long, as for putting hids in it, that might be a lil difficult/expensive to do. I would just go with some super white/blue bulbs in them and just wire them up to your lows.....

The best way would be putting some oem fog lights off of another cb7 and putting them were the blinkers are. Then you could put the hid kit that fits the oem fogs.

            No.

If you have a 90-91 accord, those have a plastic part below the blinkers that tells you where the fog lights go.

92-93 have an outline behind the bumper that tells you where to cut in order to mount the fog lights.

No but you can make a custom mount so that you can fit the fog lights where the blinkers are. that way you dont have to do any cutting on the bumper.

Putting any sort of fog bulb/HID, etc., into the stock bumper light housing isn't going to give you any sort of useable light output. The reflector setup for those housings is for a blinker only.

If you want a foglight, add the OEM pieces beneath the bumpers, as has been said. If you want the bumper light housing to light up, you can cut off the stock socket, and replace it with an 1157 bulb style socket (3-wire). This will allow you to run an 1157 dual filament bulb. You hook the OEM black and green wires to the signal/ground wire of the replacement socket (you can source this from a 92-95 Civic corner light or an 86-89 Accord brake light socket, amongst other types) and then hook the 3rd wire to the always-on socket in your corner light and you're done.

Just be aware that even if you add an OEM foglight setup, you won't get much useable light from them either. The optics, at least on the 90-91 setup isn't all that great.

Put a 3 wire bulb/ socket in there.

Keeps the signals on dim with the parking lights and they brighten with the turn signal. You can get the sockets and bulbs from a civic at a junkyard.

EDIT: Ha... I see AccordWarrior already posted that... Thats what I get for not reading...

Also, what headlights with the blinkers are you getting? If they are the "JDM" projector headlights commonly seen on ebay, you will want to steer clear of those. The light output is very bad.
