ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    HID headlights....

I didn't find the answer I was looking for in the lighting section. I am wanting an hid kit for my cb, most of the kits I find are only two bulb setups. The stock bulbs if I'm not mistaken are 9006 low and 9005 high. I actually prefer the chrome/clear factory housing and I was wondering if someone knows if they make a four bulb kit or if you can splice to make one?

    #2
    no you cant splice

yes it can look the same

you got 2 differnt bulbs, get a 9006 kit and be done with it. You only need one kit.

    dont get anything over 6k
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

    Retro!

Meaning you want a kit that comes with lows and highs?

Nah. You'll need two kits if that's the case. Plus HID high beams are pointless really..

        As has been said,

You only need the lows....don't use anything over 5-6k at the most.

        And highs are pointless.

I don't think hi beam HID's are pointless but a good option rather than just slapping some HID's in your stock housing is to do a retrofit with bi-xenon morimoto mini projectors which have an option for a hi beam tap which eliminates the cutoff for the lo beam HID bulb when the hi beams are activated, your stock hi beam lights will still work also.

Well if you go that route then its worth it...but that route is quite expensive.

For $35 you can just cop a DDMtuning 5k kit and slap them in....and the brights wont really be necessary.

have you heard of a Period?

If you want yellow get a yellow hid bulb

xentec is just like any other crap thats out there. They may work for some and not for others.

ddm tuning is decent but their quality control is shit and their customer service sucks (personal experiance). www.retrosolutionsllc.com has never failed me.

The amount of time to install all depends on the individual doing the work. Here's the link to the thread that lead me to the Morimoto's.
