ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I'd rather put tear off sheets on my windshield and run no wipers.

IMO, it's not rice. and its definitely not rice just because you don't like it. Z3 fenders were all the rage when it came out, then died for a bit, and now people are bringing it back because it's "old school." cleanly painted and installed they look sick. still rice?

it's an option, a potential mod that can add to the uniqueness of your car. If you like it, then it'll be good and productive to give it a shot and see if you can get it to work and if it suits your taste once you get it going. Theres issues with it yes, but if you get it right you get style points. Hellaflush is helladangerous, yet when people see a properly executed example people go crazy over it.

I personally was considering one wiper as a possibility, just to change things up. just make sure you have a strong wiper motor, and if it bugs you to have the wiper arm kinda up on the glass, see if theres a way to swap in a one-wiper motor from some other car. if people can swap motors, then hell, swapping a wiper motor should be just as easy to tackle. oh, it could be unsafe to have just one wiper arm. then why do mercs or other cars have one wiper arm? if it was a safety issue they should all have 2 wipers then. It's a mark for people to take notice, "MERCEDES has those kinds of wipers."

Here you go, buddy, I found something for you deep in the heart of the DIY section!

                http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=6001

"its a perfectly valid DIY, you dont have to do it to your car if you dont want."

I might just give it a shot someday, it sounds like an interesting idea to try out.

But the mercedes is actually designed for it. plus it acts like 2 because it goes up and down as it moves across.

                    Looks like shit.

                    Performs worse than it looks.

My CB came with one wiper. Luckily I was able to get another wiper arm from a member on here.

yup yup, but i figure its something to try out. if they're curious, its not too difficult of a thing to begin or reverse, and if its not crackin, then at least you tried it out and know for sure whether you want to keep it or not.

Either way, i mainly said that just in case for people who would trip about there not being two wipers for safety, and to compare that mercs have only one. and as i said, if it's annoying to see it up on the windshield, then you can fab up the merc or some other one-windshield wiper motor in your car to make it legit and functioning how they had designed it. might be difficult to work out at first, but if people can swap motors from other cars, this should be a relatively simple task.

simply put, its a mod. it might not suit the fancy of many people, and sure it may not function as effectively, but to some it adds to their car and gives them an opportunity to change things up, and possibly spark some inspiration to go that extra step to perfect this mod and find that one-wiper motor and fab it up and make it legit. someone was even considering fabbing up the mercedes wiper motor, but amidst all this hatery, how can such an idea flourish if no one wants to see it done? If no one gives it a shot, or is too afraid to do so because everyone wants them to just suck it up, sit back in their seats and stick with what they got, then that cripples our CB7 tuning community.

I've owned my car for almost 10yrs and I bought it with one wiper and it still has the same wiper motor and has never given me any issues with rain visibility when it is raining. I have two kids and they come with me every where in the cb and the only thing that worries me in the rain is other people.
