ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Stock alloys with spacers..

Anyone have a picture of a lowered cb7 with stock alloys and spacers? Knowing the thickness (5mm,10mm, etc) would be really helpful.

I want to lower my car 2", and keep the stock 92 OEM alloys, but really dislike how the wheels get sucked inwards when this happens. Can't seem to find any pictures or members with this set up. It's my Daily Driver and I drive like a grandma with a soiled pair of Depends on, so I am not really worried about the wheels falling off. Will probably either get the H&R kit or the Eibach kit which both come with longer studs.

Go with 5mm spacers. If you go any thicker, you lose threads on your lugs, leaving little thread for the nuts to grab. 5mm will bring your wheels near flush with the fender.

My car isnt lowered in the pics, but it's got Acura Legend rims. I HAD to use spacers otherwise these rims would not clear my front calipers, but the backs fit fine.

It's sorta hard to tell in photos, but in person you can notice a slight difference if you look at them compared to the rears with no spacers.

This is my car. I just have extended studs with 12mm universal spacers.

I wouldnt suggest this method, because the wheel wont rest on the hub anymore. The h&r spacers are the way to go!

Hey choogee3, thanks for the reply. I took a look at your members thread and, your car looks clean. A couple of questions though:

Which picture are with spacers and which are not (With it lowered, that is)? I think I can tell but just want to be sure.

After putting on the 12mm spacers, with the Neuspeed kit on the lowest perch, do the outside on your tires rub on the inside of the fenders at all?

Thanks for your input, every little bit helps!

                    this was my idea also
my wheels are so cambered in though 5mm wouldnt do much
i didnt know you could use 5 on stock studs though i may try that

                    best bet: ARP extended studs
MAY have to buy open end lug nuts too im not sure depending on your spacers
and i wouldnt worry about it rubbing the outside of your tire on your fender with that kind of drop

Yeah on my sig picture I've got my ITRs on 5mm spacers up front and I'm using oe style ball seat lugs. If you do this make sure to use ONLY those type of lugs otherwise the lugs won't seat properly on the stock wheel. Max on stock studs I would go is 5mm FYI a 1/4 inch is about 6.25mm which I think is too much for stock studs

All of the lowered pics are with spacers.

Im running -1.5 degrees of camber on the front, with a 195/55/15. Never ever rubbed once.

If i bought them again, i would want 15 or 20mm spacers.

If so pictures would be great!

get adapters and not spacers. Your stock lug nuts will hold to the existing studs, and the extra new studs will be the one comming out. You need to get the right center bore, thread pitch of the threads, and the right lug pattern.

this is just for an example. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/25mm-...Q5fAccessories

I run one in my z and its perfect, there are cheaper brands but I opted for a set of the more expensive ones. They are also hubcentric.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!
