ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

    camber kits? need help

so i know there are many different camber kits. and ive been told ebay sells the really cheap camber kits that break. so if anyone could tell me if that is true. and also if you could post pics of what the kits should actually look like and where i can find some. i would greatly appreciate it. thanks in advance for your help

I've never messed with the camber, but I assume you would need somethink like this upper control arm with adjustable ball joint:
    http://www.tasauto.com/Product/Detai...805&d=1717&p=1

Or if you have some mechanical skills and want to simply replace the ball joints from your existing control arms, you could get something like this. Available from rockauto.com.

Not sure if there is more to it than that, but it's probably a good start.

I have never heard of that brand, and I sure as hell wouldn't trust my life to it.

The camber kit replaces vital suspension parts. If those parts fail, you crash. Simple as that. DO NOT get cheap shit parts. I made that mistake once when I was new and stupid, and I was kept on the road by about 1cm of metal. If that broke, my wheels would have gone from |--| to |--\, and I'd have been heading through traffic toward the wall at 65mph.

Ingalls or SPC are the only brands I would trust. The TASauto arms linked above are the best kit on the market. Not cheap, but well worth the price. I have them on my car now, and I would get no other.

I love suspension questions in the Appearance section... Just the location alone shows how much the OP really understands.

How long did your ball joints last before you changed to the TASauto setup?

PRCB7- Do not go ebay for camber kits or ball joints...period. Only buy something that has a good brand name and you know they are legit. Its not worth it.

There are basically 2 different styles (to my knowledge) available for CB's. The sliding ball joint and the anchor bolt. The sliding ball joint kit replaces ur stock ball joint for camber adjustment. The anchor bolt kit replaces ur stock anchor bolts for camber adjustment. The TASauto camber kit (the one Deev endorses for the most part) is basically a sliding ball joint style kit already put together with a UCA. That one is tight because it eliminates the need to press out ur old ball joint and go thru all that bullshit and its pretty damn easy to install. But its also expensive compared to the others.

I don't understand why he shouldn't go to Ebay to buy shit. Ebay sells a lot of brand name items, camber kits being one of them.

i have some eBay camber kits, but i did NOT put them the way they were shipped. I re-welded them and DIY (cut outs) rubber bushings because the originals were shit. If you ask me, it works and i drive about 90 miles a day on my cb7, trust me my accord seen abuse.

If you are on the budget go with what you can afford. Remember that you get what you pay for. If you dont what the hassle just save up for better parts.

I had an anchor bolt kit previously... and it lasted about 2 months before almost completely failing (one hard turn or another 3 miles, and I'd have crashed...) It was a Dropzone kit.

Before that, I had the original ball joints in place until about 2004, then replaced them with cheap "ebay" upper control arms and joints, which fortunately (and surprisingly) lasted until 2008, when I installed the TASauto kit.

well im looking on the summit racing site at the ingalls camber kit. In my budget that seems good. and i have heard about members using the ingalls. are they good? and how would you go about putting them on?

Which kit are you looking at? The ball joint kit, or the anchor bolt kit? (the anchor bolt kit looks like 4 "P"s, and the ball joint kit is just 2 pieces... 1 sliding ball joint for each side)

Ingalls makes good stuff. I've had one friend break an anchor bolt kit, but I suspect he overtorqued it. If you get that kit, don't overtorque the nuts! If it doesn't come with instructions, I would contact Ingalls and ask them how much to torque it, and do it properly.

The anchor bolt style is simple to put on, but you need to have the wheels professionally aligned imediately after.

Anchor bolt. See how they're P shaped?

That's the easiest to install yourself. I'd prefer that over the ball joint, because I'm not comfortable removing the ball joint from the stock control arm (Honda won't even sell them separately...)
