    Seat and Carpet Cleaners

    Hey guys,

I've begun to clean the interior of my car by removing the carpet and seats from the car. LOL

The bad thing about it is that it came from a farm so the interior is really dirty.
Do any of you guys have any cleaning products that would work great on the seats and carpets.

    Tuff Stuff upholstery cleaner.

If you have a Stanley Steemer in your area, call and ask them how much to clean your car interior. It used to be around $75 to $100, but they get that shit CLEAN! They might even do it cheaper since the seats and carpet are out of the car.

For my carpet I took it out and brought it to a car wash, hung it up, and hit it with the wand until what was coming off wasn't brown anymore. Make sure you rinse it real good. I draped it over my fence at home and let the sun dry it, almost looked new.

Tuff Stuff and a toothbrush (medium) will do wonders for upholstry and vinyl. as for carpet cleaner, blue coral makes a pretty good product.

            seat

I think you can get different items to clean your seat and carpet from jcwhitney.com. After cleaning be sure to get plastic seat covers to protect your seat from dirt.

I just use a small amount of Tide laundry detergent with water in a spray bottle. Its cheap and gets the job done well.

I use the ZEP carpet cleaner solution w/ the pro heat(sold at Home Depot) and most of the interior came out SUPER clean, very happy. My floor mats took a bit more though - I had the orange grease lighting spray so I tried it out on them, worked great. I sprayed the hell out of them, then sprayed some water on them and scrubbed. Sprayed off with the hose and now they look like new.

luthernil- plastic seat covers my wife always asks me why the fuck I have floor mats over the stock Accord floor mats.... she just will never understand

I've used Simple Green, Purple power, Laundry detergent, all with good results. You just gotta get a stiff nylon bristle brush and put some elbow grease into it.

If you have compressed air and a fine tip nozzle, you can blow stains (in) and yet they wont show up on old upholstery. Any mild carpet shampoo will do, just be vigorous and give it a good go.

                        life is good.

well after a short stint at a carwash, I am thoroughly convinced that steam cleaning does the best job if you have one available to you. Something about the heat combined with water and soap just leaves the carpet looking brand new. Alternatively you could get a small carpet cleaner (or already have one). I think mine is called the little green machine and to date it has removed every stain/deep embedded coffee spill from the interior of my cars. I've also tried with moderate success resolve deep cleaning powder, you sprinkle this cocaine looking stuff over carpet and scrub it in (dry) then vacuum it out. Also laundry detergent, dish soap and even some solvents work very well at cleaning carpets as long as you are patient and get every last bit of soap out. Lastly, look for spot shot, comes in an aerosol can. That will get absolutely anything out.
Being normal is probably the lamest thing you can try to be

Dawn dish soap .... just make sure it's the clear version. I removed the carpet scrubbed it with a stiff brush then used a pressure washer to rinse it out. Looks brand new. I use it in a spray bottle on the all the interior panels, plastic and fabric, and it keeps it looking new. Good luck!
