ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Painting Black sides on 1992 accord

    Hi,

I was wondering what would be the best thing to use to pating the black sides on the bumper of my accord and the doors I heard paint is not always the best choice.

    thanks

Go to the auto parts store (Autozone, Napa or whatever) and pick up a product called Mother's Back To Black (I'm sure there are some other products there that do the same thing but thats the one I'm familiar with). It supposed to rejuvenate the side moldings and whatnot. I heard it works pretty good.

i actually used the eagle one tire cleaner gel and it worked wonders, id probably go with something that was actually made for that though.

Pick up some Meguiars trim restore/detailer products. Works way better than Mothers Back To Black. Meguairs is more thick and controllable, Mothers is too liquidy.

Be sure to use a water-based product, and not a petroleum-based one. A petroleum based product will dry out the rubber, making it brown and nasty... worse than it is now.

            Bumper trim paint by Duplicolor.
Sig removed due to excessive size.

Try FOREVER BLACK. This stuff absolutely blows away other trim blackening products. It's like a black dye in a polymer liquid.

heat gun will work especially well on the bumper trim/side skirts. just be careful with it, and it will effectively bring your trim back to factory black, with no chemicals. door mouldings are a bit more difficult, but they react about the same to the heat.

search bumper trim restoration video, i posted up a video of how to do it a couple months ago in this section, but im too lazy to find it right now, as i am watching a movie, haha

At the autopartsstores they also sell black trim paint never used it but it should look good, or just use black plastic paint like i used but the surface doesnt come out as clean everywhere, you get some kinda texture due to paint not bondo correct or something but since its black its not noticable

I had all my trim painted when my car was painted. It's held up fine for years.
