ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I dont cover squat, I spray willingly, but I dont hit it hard by the distribitor.

Also I do it with the car running, if you hear the engine making a funky sound then stop spraying there.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

honestly thats a bad idea, i had the same question back when i was a noob to the site, and someone gave me the same answer as i gave the op. plus your motor is supposed to be cool when you wash it and off, thats what everyone i have ever asked has told me, i guess the op can do it how he wantsm, but my opinion i would never have it on and not take some precaution with covering things up

Just to throw in my advice, I would try and find a product called purple power. It is basically the cheaper version of some environmentally safe product (can't remember the name) but it works amazingly well. It is pretty common and I have found it in both auto part stores and hardware stores. To use it you just get your engine bay wet with the hose and then apply it liberally to everything that is dirty. I used almost the entire bottle on my engine bay and damn was it clean I would definitely ditto 91hondaaccordlx's advice especially covering the distributor cap. I forgot to cover mine and it got water in there and killed the car. It is not really a big deal though because you just take the cap off and let it dry, but it was kind of an inconvenience at the time.

Please learn to use the search function. There are already several threads on how to clean your engine and bay:

I have a question about this topic. The last time I used Super Clean in my engine bay, it ruined some of my anodized parts. What do I use or how do I prevent this from happening? Any tips?

I done it for 10+ years, no issues. I might get a hick-up and thats when I stop spraying there. I dont flood the engine, I just use high pressure or a pressure washer and dont let water accumulate in certain spots. THen blow standing water out with a air gun.

id read the back of the label, it pissed me off.

                  written directly on the bottle:
DO NOT allow drying on surface being cleaned, rinse with water
DO NOT use on exterior car surfaces, glass, painted surfaces or wheel rims

I dont even want to try to use it, and I bought a whole gallon.

x2 on the purple power..i actually do it when the engine is a little warm cause it helps the degreaser work faster and just eat away at the grease and oil....oh and by the way.. its on sale at autozone only 2.99$

if you use it full strenght it could damage your wheels finish..but if you dilute it..it works great..i spray it on my wheels and tires hose if off and takes all the grime and brake dust off right away dont even have to scrub them
