ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

17" rim but what size tire

So I finally found some rims for my 92 lx. Spects are
    Rim size 17x7
    Offset 40mm
    With 1" lip
So I don't know wat size tire to go with. I really wat to put 215/45 17 but I really don't know if they're gonna rub, or I might need spacer for them. And I really want some cushion. Espacially here in boston.

i just got some wheels with same specs with no tires, im going with 215-40-17...not too thick (avoid rubbing) and not too thin (not easy to get flat)

I was able to stuff 225/45/17 On some bbs 17x7.5. Offset of 38.

I have a slight rub in the rear when the suspension gets loaded. So You will be able to get away with the 215/40 just fine.

Does having the 40 series tire, hit bumps harder. I was told that the 45 series makes the ride more confortable

Yes the thicker the sidewall the smoother it will ride. 40 will give you better cornering, depending on the brand and class of the tire.

I'm gonna go with the 215/45 17. The 40's look nice but if it gives better cornering I don't think ima need it unless I plan on just speeding through corners.

It really depends on your drop.

You won't rub in most situations typically. I rubbed on the back quarter when I had people in the car when I was turning hard, but otherwise had no issues.

I had a 1.8/1.5 drop on AGX, which probably make it closer to a 1.7/1.4-1.3 by the time all was said and done (AGXis a drop-killer).

I had no ride complains with the 45 series tire.

I had Neuspeed Sports with AGX, and I loved the ride/handling.

However, that being said, I sold my AGX to another member on here and he claimed that they were blown, and i had put less than 15k on them.

I'd recommend against them, and I'd recommend going with Koni Yellows. You'll have a much better setup.

                      Depends how low you are.

On stock height, you can get away with 215/45's no problem.

On a sport drop, you might rub when taking hard turns on 215/45's.

On a race drop, i would go with 205/40's.

You see how low my car is, and when i put my 17's on (215/45)
I cant turn with the steering wheel locked, because i will rub. BADLY!
Regular driving its straight, but you still scrape the inner fender plastic on dips.

                      Hope that helps.
