ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Yeah why would u do that? Of course the light output would be better, cuz there is no shield. Thats why the high beam has no shield, so u can get more light when u need it. But its only supposed to be used temporarily. So u might as well be rollin with ur high beams on really.

I took mine out of my USDM a long time ago and replaced them with projector lenses.

Not once have I had anyone tell me they're too bright or annoying to be in front of.

Your high beams are usually higher wattage bulbs than your low beams.

yeah, but those small projectors you put in place of the shields are acting as them...they are shielding/projecting the light onto the road...if you didnt have that small projector or shield thats when you will be blinding people...cuz the bulb is exposed...

Same reason people fit hids in reverse lights, and fit projectors without aligning them.
So long as you can see, who cares about the people coming towards you that can't, right

I blackhoused my usdm lights and my output sucked, I did the blackhoused on my jdm lights but removed the shield and had better out put, I've drvien my car at night for a while towards cops on purpose they didn't pull me over and the other drivers didn't flash me for my lights being bright so I guess I'm okay.

But I do want to find hids with shields attached to them already

Have you had the cutoff pattern checked?

I dont have projectors nor hid's, I have the lights adjusted in a way where it won't bother people, my buddies say that it dosent bother them. That was said before I drove them on public roads. so everythings good in my book.

Other driver don't seem to mind and a cop hasn't pulled over and cops are all over the place where I live.

                      How so?

Basically with that shield removed its a unfocused lowbeam, or a dull highbeam.
Either way, the light beam will be affecting others even if you don't consider it to be.

Easy I adjusted the beam patter more to the right and down, plus with the blackhousing the beam doesn't glare and by chance if the beam does bother someone then oh well but it's not much I've seen some bright hid's before that blinded me and they still might have them installed blinding others. Until I get pulled over or flashed for the lights setup then I'll re-intsall shields in. But I doubt it

That's what i have, They work good and shield the light, but there are still hot spots. I'll probably end up putting in projectors sometime in the future.

What do you mean by hot spots? Is that something I should be aware of?
