ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

from what i've seen, most people do a 50/50 mix of either paint thinner, mineral spirits, or acetone. each one will cause the paint to flash a little bit differently. being thinned out will mean you will have to do several coats.

          good write up here.

i tried it a while ago and it was a bit watery as well. took a solid 10 coats before it was thick enough that it could be colorsanded and buffed without blowing through it and getting splotches.

                  Rattle cans FTW my friend.

I painted all these with just Duplicolor spray paint.

                  Hood - Duplicolor Gloss Black

Fully rattle canned the entire body and the rims with Duplicolor Ford Red, Gloss Black and Bronze wheel paint.

                  Duplicolor Grabber Green and black

                  Rockerguard lower half

Just takes patience. All those were done for under $120 in paints and supplies.

That was a scuff with 220 grit I think, then hit it with grease and wax remover. Sprayed adhesion promoter on it, then one good coat of primer, and 2 cans of black covered the hood pretty well. I bought 3 cans to do it. It could probably stand to use 1 more coat to finish it off perfectly, but it looks good enough to me as it is.

loud92CB7, they use rustoleum oil based enamal. you can find it in any hardware store. check out their website for more info. as far as polish, you can shine it after wet sanding with just about any polishing compound and a rotory buffer.

you can tell those cars above were spray painted because of the tiger stripes. later.

yeah, when you rattle can, especially dark colours like black, it takes a lot of coats to get rid of the tiger stripes. In the case of the ones I sprayed, I only did 2 coats, mostly because I knew I wasn't going to keep the truck for a long time, and it was cheaper than a proper paint job.

The red truck I sold about a month after painting it, and I drove the green one like that for a year.
