I would polish and shave the emblems. Then I would etch it or have it etched like a chargers trophy. Trophy shop could etch it.

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

i don't really like anything flashy myself, but those pictured above look really really good. is it going to be painted, or powedercoated? i don't know that i've ever seen something complex like that powder coated.
here is one i had done for my project car, nothing too fancy, just simple and clean:

as for shaving it, dont use a grinder except for the bumps on the passenger side of the cover. unless you have REALLY steady hands, you will slip and nick the valve cover where you want it to be smooth. it is a pain in the ASS to get those nicks out, and almost impossible if they are deep enough. i spead from experience
the best way to shave the emblems is with a d/a sander and 300 grit paper. it takes a little while, but comes out REALLY smooth. if you dont have a d/a, use a file or a flat stick and wrap sandpaper around it. if you are going with this method, use 80-120 grit until you get close to making contact with the face of the valve cover, then swithch to 180 or 250. the lower grit you use, the faster it will take material off, but also the more work it is to get the scratches out. after it is shaved you can hit it with successively higher-grip aper if you are polishing it, or leave it at 300 grit if you stay with the decision to paint it. after that, hang it up with a coat-hanger or wire or something and paint it in a dust-free, warm area.

quick question since we're on the topic of shaving valve covers. if i were to shave the raised parts on our F22 cover where the spark plug wire holder things bolt up, would it leave holes? and if it does could they be welded and then smoothed out?90 ACCORD EX..<-- MR thread
