ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Resealing 90/91 JDM headlights

Ok so my 90/91 JDM one piece headlight is getting water/condensation inside, I was wondering how and what you guys have used to reseal yours? Mine have never been opened before as far as I know. I have black-housed several USDM lights but have always been scared to mess with JDM ones, do I open them the same way? I want to reseal them to where I can open them up again if I ever want to black-house.

Any info would be great TIA

You can use the oven like the usdm ones, but don't set it as hot and leave it in there for a shorter time so you don't burn/melt the plastic.

You can try a heat gun too.

Just have to be more carefully around plastics.

Are they as delicate as trying to get corners lights apart? Im just scared of warping.

The plastic headlight are more thicker than the corners, so I don't think so.

If your concerned, put it in the oven and check every few minutes to see if you can prey them apart and not have to worry about warping/ burning and melting.

It should be fairly easy anyways, the adhesive is very flexible to begin with.

I used clear automotive sealant at Auto-Zone. The long tubular ones that you stick in a "gun".

i use GE scilicone type II they have it at walmart. the small tubes firm in 10 minutes and dry 30 minutes

the big calk gun tubes take at least 48 hours to completely dry ( you will nvr use all that big tube just buy the little squeeze one )

and ive nvr had a light leak on me. ive used it on headlights from jetta, accord, civic, g37, and my accord fogs.

I can tell you straight up right now...it wont melt the plastic, because i did it. i've done it with 2. 225 degrees works perfectly well. i did it for 8 mins still, i guess because i was impatience....i wanted to black house (or rather black piece lol) mine so bad. Oh, and simple silicone type II will work
