ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

CF overlay is possible, as turbo90accord has done (I hadn't seen that until now.. cool).

A full carbon fiber bay... no. That would destroy any structural rigidity of the car, and you'd be relying on carbon fiber for your front suspension and engine mounts... Might as well make it out of paper mache. And if you don't even know how carbon fiber is made, or how parts are made out of it... then this is WAY too much for you!

If you want to make something out of carbon fiber, start small. Make something simple.

Some people don't know the difference between real carbon fiber and an overlay...
I once had a guy ask me where I got the overlay for my hood (it's an authentic Fiber Images hood... shot to shit now, but it was nice at one time!)

The overlay is the best bet. To have it real you would have to spend thousands of dollars and a lot of time. The up side is you would have a carbon fiber CB, but for the price it's just not worth it.

Yeah, for a real CF engine bay, you'd have to make molds of the bay sections and start from there. It could be done but it's definitely NOT worth it.

Carbon fiber is not easy to work with for a first timer. I suggest doing lots of research first!

It wouldn't be strong enough. He'd need to make a tube chassis as well... and there's no point to a CF bay if he has a tubed front end! Unless he just wants the look... but that's pretty damn extreme!

I want a tube chassis with carbon fiber everywhere. Want to pay for it Deev? You're rich.

I might have to take out a 3rd mortgage on the golden toilet to do that.
