ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    cd5 Lip Trouble [pics]

    Hey Guys

So I finally bought a cd5 lip, resprayed it and all but After searching all the Lip DIY's and FAQ. I still have trouble mounting this lip.

Above is just a pic I took trying to align it.

    This 2nd pic here below.

Where I've marked the red box around as you can see the cb7 lip above is thinner and this cd5 lip is much thicker there, do I need to trim it down to the size of the cb7 lip?

Cause when I tried to put it on there was this other piece of plastic under the bumper which made it hard to make it look straight, it sort of tilts cause of that plastic piece.

    Any Tips?

    Cheers

Goes under the bumper like a normal lip.
Just drill holes for the OEM mounting or use self-tapping screws.

You will have to trim the lip just a tad, and bend it a little bit to conform to the CB bumper.

Please tell me you were using jack stands while installing that lip - not just the jack to lift your car.

I had one of those small floor jacks fail while h22anow and I were doing an oil change. You do not want to seriously injure yourself by having your car smash you.

I start in the middle and slowly bent them to bumper and move out slowly to both end and cut out the extra just as Joshy mention.

Thanks for the tip guys, I'll start again next weekend. I wasn't using jack stands today my bad as I was only trying to put the lip on but I didn't go under the car. But I'll def use jack stands when I start fitting the lip next week.

The best way to do it is to remove the bumper first. It'll be easier to see where it needs to be bent or trimmed.

taking off the bumper makes things 100 times easier.

when I was trying to put on an oem lip, it was pretty difficult. just imagine if I had not taken off the bumper to put my legend lip on, with drilling holes and all
