Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    water drainage

This is pretty lame as appearance goes, but I don't often clean my car… to put it mildly… and my trunk was getting pretty impressively toxic.

I took a garden hose and sprayed off the surfaces, and then folded the seat down and hosed down the seatback / back of the trunk. Seems some water went through the back seat, into the cabin, and collected on the passenger side floor.

And it's been stagnating there for a couple weeks now . I thought it would dry out but instead it got moldy. The situation seems to be under control, because the floor under the liners seems clean (but damp).

Sooo the question is: where is water supposed to drain from the interior?

For that matter, only a trickle came out the bottom when I hosed off the trunk. It looks like it can escape through the center of the spare tire well I didn't find proof positive that that's a drain at all.

Water isnt meant for the interior.
Dry it up with a blowdryer, but not too close as you dont wanna melt up your carpet. My trunk doesnt drain too quickly either..I put a pencil-sized hole in the bottom where the tire sits.

there is a plug where the spare tire sits...

Please learn why you do things...before you do them. You don't just take a hose to your interior.

You need to get in there with carpet cleaner and a scrub brush, scrub scrub scrub scrub the carpet. Use just enough to clean and don't soak it.

For the metal...remove all the carpet and the spare tire cover...you should probably throw them away. Clean with soapy water, then LIGHTLY pour water over the surfaced to remove excess cleaner letting it drain. Use either a hot day in the sun or a blow dryer to dry. Spray with fabreeze.

Yeah I never considered the trunk part of the interior but it looks like that's the way it is :P . It was pretty heavily soaked in automotive products and laundry detergent, spilled by a previous owner (I swear!) and it was a murky, oily mess. However the detergent prolly did have some positive effects . If only it were evenly applied…

But that still leaves the question: how do you get water out of the interior proper? The hairdryer is a terrible idea, the risks far outweigh the benefits. Maybe I should try (or should have tried, now it's pretty dry) a coin-operated vacuum.
