ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

If you take your time and do it right, you'll only have to do it once.

Plus, when you cheap out on your suspension, you could very easily get in an accident. Property damage alone is going to cost you more than a proper drop, and your insurance will go through the roof. If you happen to hurt or kill someone... yeah. Makes $500 for a proper suspension setup look pretty damn cheap! (which really is the cheapest you're going to get away with for new parts, including a camber kit and an alignment)

For the rear, you can get away with the 'washer trick'... though a proper rear camber kit isn't all that expensive. I have nothing in the rear right now, and it destroyed my nearly new tires (cupping... the tread is now buckled, and it rides rough... stupid on my part)

There is no way to do it DIY in the front and expect it to be safe. In fact, you really can't go cheap for the front, either. I got a $75 "Dropzone" kit from an ebay seller years ago, and it broke in a month. And when that breaks... you crash. I was VERY lucky to be able to wobble home on the one half of the kit that didn't completely break.

The components that your camber kit controls are very important. If one of them gives out, you'll go from this |---| to this |---\. And at 70mph... your car is NOT going to make it. You'll be lucky if YOU do!

A proper camber kit is going to cost you $200 or more. I would highly suggest the TASauto.com adjustable upper control arms. Brand new arms, Ingalls adjustable ball joint, urethane bushings... Not cheap, but for all you get, it's actually quite a steal compared to piecing that all together yourself.

Suspension and brakes are the two things you should NEVER go cheap on... and sadly, there are more cheap options for those two areas than anything else! It's easy to think you can do it for a couple hundred dollars... but it's really not worth the risk.

Definitely. If you're saving, you might as well save for good stuff as well... not just something that will get you dropped. Koni Yellows are expensive, but absolutely amazing. Your car will actually handle well, and not just look low.

It's nice to see someone who actually understands what I say. I'm so used to people saying "nuh-uh mah boiz heat deyre sprinz all da tyme n dey ryde lo and handel tyte yo!"

KYB GR-2's are a stock replacement. You aren't suppose to put lowering springs on them. By doing that, you are dramatically reducing the life of the shocks. KYB AGX shocks, on the other hand, can handle a 1.5" drop.
werd you rite....i had that on my mind for my sentra lol thanx for the correction

Is it a pain in the butt to cut and get level?

my friend has a set of factory vigor springs laying around, since the vigor is a bigger car would it be possible to cut those springs and put them into a cb (im not planning on doing it but we were arguing about it) since they have a higher spring rating how do you think the ride would be in a cb?
