ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

rim upgrade from 185/70/14 to 235/45/17. Sorry no pics, Advice please

So i'm changing from the stock steelies to those 17" rims, what can i expect in terms of performance other than more grip. I already know about like increased suspension and bearing/joint wear, but then i've also heard about hydroplaning due to too much rubber contact on wet roads, but that factor can be negated due to the weight of the car (that is, the car ain't no lightweight) i'm not too sure on that issue, i would like some knowledge there. Also with the fact that i wont be gettin as much revolutions as the stock rim, i may be going slightly faster than what the actual speedometer is saying. Example like, if the speedo is sayin 65, i would be really doin 68. But what about like the feeling of sluggishness (what would i feel in that matter) and the effect on the turning circle (would that decrease by much?). I'm just really wanting some insight as to what is to be expected overall.

    Thanks

235 is crazy wide! You fit those on your CB7, beerman?

I'm running 225/45/17, and I still rub a little. I wanted 45 instead of 40, as I've dented my wheels pretty badly with 40s on there.

i would go with 16" if i could choose

As was stated if the wheels you are getting are lighter than the stock wheels the car will pick up a little faster because it takes less work on the engines part to turn the wheels. so in turn thats kind of what messes with the speedo at times. please add any information if i am missing any guys. also are you lowering the car because if you are those might rub the 235/45/17
